Sighing in defeat I placed some water in my mouth and threw the tablets in then swallowed.
Nothing I hate more than taste of medication.
I saw the door open revealing Valerie, Melanie,Kailey, Sarah and even Talia standing there before barging in all at once through the tiny hospital door.
" Guys single file"I said jokingly they all came in and hugged me to which I gratefully accepted.
" how did you guys know I was here and why didn't you guys come earlier" I said pouting my lips.
It all seemed like gibberish as they all began talking at once confusing my little ears.
"OK OK!" I basically shouted.
"Why don't you guys talk at one at a time".
I then added "you first Kailey, I'm kinda upset you didn't visit me earlier since I was supposed to come to your house two nights ago".
"OK" she started sheepishly and all eyes were on her.
"Look I'm really really sorry I tried calling your cellphone but it went straight to voicemail I know you change your mind easily so I figured maybe you didn't want to be bothered when I didn't come home to see you".
She sighed heavily after explaining.
" oh I understand, how'd you find out I was here though?"
"Well you normally get dressed at my house for work a-".
Talia cut Kailey off and started.
"Yeah that's how I done knew something was wrong when I ain't see you come in to work yesterday".
"Hey I wasn't finished talking!" Kailey shouted.
"Oh nobody cares about what your sorry *ss has to say" Talia retorted.
Just now analysing Talia's features she wore a dark glasses.
Talia never wears glasses.
I reached over at her face while everyone watched me intently and I grabbed the glasses off before she could object a huge black and blue bruise lay under the bags of her eyes and few cuts here and there around her eyebrows.
"Talia what the fvk?".
Everyone gasped in response to Talia's bruise and cuts.
"I I have to go" she said picking up her purse she flung on my bed.
"No, wait" but before I could say anything else she was already out the door.
"What was that about?" Valerie spoke up.
"I have no idea" I replied dumb founded.
"You have another job?" Melanie said looking at me intently.
Shyt.
Before I could answer Kailey spoke up "yeah yeah, she works at an baby sitting agency"
Melanie said nothing more instead she just made an O shape with her mouth then added
"You know Two guys asked about you when you weren't at work the other day"
"Oh did they leave a name?"
"No didn't say anything else after I told them I couldn't give out the name of your college"
"Oh okay"
Valerie just sat there in the bed not saying another word. Valerie is the only one of us whose mother she got pregnant in her highschool years and her child's father took the baby away from her and got full custody of little Dyamond. She wasn't working at the time and her child's father convinced persons to testify that she was also unstable and unfit, he won the case by a landslide. We don't see each other or talk that often because she has two full time jobs one of which is a stripper at a huge club.
