Hush Now, Dear

NOTE: This next poem is more of a nursery rhyme than anything. I wrote it to fit a tune similar to that of 'Chim-Chimney' musical number in Mary Poppins.

Down in the basement,

Beyond the dark stairs,

There lay there two children,

Lay down in their beds.

A girl and a boy there,

They sat wide awake,

Waiting and watching,

For the monsters who take.

Hush now, dear

Hush now,

No need to be scared,

Stand there united;

Together and paired.

Rise to the fight,

There's no doubt you will win,

Sleep with your swords and,

Together you sing.

Da-da da da-da da da-dadada

Da-da da da-da da da-dadada

Da-da da da-da da da-dadada

Da-da da da-da da da-dadada
