Princess? Pfft no [HIATUS]

"Alright class! You all have wonderful costumes on-" The class erupted in cheers and shouted compliments from one side of the room to the other. Ms Bustier smiled encouragingly but still kept her position as a teacher and got everyone to settle down.

"-now I hope you have studied the character you're dressed as today because you'll all have to act like them or at least retain some characteristics for the whole day!" This time the class was filled with groans with some excited squeals from Rose.

Marinette caught movement out of the corner of her eye to find Nino grinning coyly and brought out his ukulele and started strumming profusely in a silly and exaggerated manner, making Ms Bustier's handwriting go astray out of surprise.

Marinette hid her face behind a fan she previously packed in her bag to complete the outfit and tried to stifle her soft giggles.

Nino only grinned more cheekily as Ms Bustier glared at him with a hint of amusement laced but before she could scold the dark-skinned boy, he started skatting random beats, paying a homage to the 1920s setting of the Princess and the Frog.

"I didn't want to come to schoooooool~"

Although it was a silly thing to say, Nino sang it with a melodic but baritone voice that was in a rendition of "Almost There".

Alya had employed Tiana's character and instead of encouraging the ukulele strumming male she simply rolled her eyes and sighed in exasperation, mirroring Tiana's attitude towards Naveen at his flirting (Naveen's flirting made Marinette think about that darn cat.)

Marinette started humming along shyly, as if she was timid about anyone getting the slightest hint that she liked music to a singing degree but with Adrien's enhanced hearing, perks of being Chat Noir, gave him the pleasure of hearing her hum, making him smile at Marinette's cheerfulness.

Adrien could hear her slowly growing more confident with the melody she was humming and now he could clearly hear her humming even with Nino's playing.

But alas, as much as he wanted to keep in his own world of hearing Marinette sing, Adrien had to complete the role of a good bro.

And that role required Adrien to be supportive of whatever Nino was doing. He wolf whistled in encouragement while Kim took to hitting his desk rhythmically in time with Nino's playing and Alix snapping her fingers to the jaunty beat.

"I'm almost there!

I'm almost there!

Teachers all think I'm crazy!

But I don't care~"

By then, Nino stood up and jumped on the desk, continuing his impromptu performance and thankfully Ms Bustier made no move to stop him as her eyes shined with mirth and amusement at the humorous shenanigans her class always provided her with.

"I'm almost there~"

Marinette had a sudden burst of confidence and started to sing with Nino, shocking everyone (but Kim of course) with her surprisingly strong voice.

"I remember Daddy told me!~

Home time will come soon.

You just gotta be patient

It all depends on you!~"

Nino faltered a bit in his playing before returning with added gusto as Marinette quirked an eyebrow at him and playfully glared at everyone like she was silently challenging anyone to criticise her singing.
