*Lucy's p.o.v.*

I look at Jason as he pulls me tight to his body. He rests his chin on my head; he fights violently to regain control over his heavy breathing. He smelled bad of sulfur, and was dripping wet.

*FLASHBACK*

Just after I had told him my theory, we had been surrounded by monsters. Jason pulled out his sword at the same time I pulled out mine.

"Luce, be careful," Jason whispered to me as he crouches. I roll and slice the face of one of the monsters. It disintegrates, but the other two monsters attack Jason.

"No," I scream. I make a pipe near me burst and hit the monsters square on. Jason was unfortunate and got soaked, but he managed to cut the other monsters down.

*END OF FLASHBACK*

"What were they?" I whisper. He doesn't answer, just holds me tightly to his chest.

"Don't talk. Just...," he is cut off by his wincing in pain. I pull my hands back from behind his back and they are blood red.

"Jason, your bleeding," I stammer.

"Way to state the obvious," he groans.

I take a moment to call Alex on our matching magical watches. When I end the call, Jason is yelling charge and running randomly throughout the crowd, waving his sword like a mad man.

"Lucy, cover me," he yells and tries to roll, but face plants the concrete. I stifle a laugh as he moans.

"Come on, baby, let's get a hotel room and get you cleaned up," I say lifting him up. He is limp in my arms.

In the hotel room, I am shocked to find a note on the bed.

Lucy-

I stare at the note for a couple of minutes, then shove it into my Jean short pocket and lay Jason onto the bed.

His shirt is badly torn up, almost in complete shreds. I sigh and pull the remainders off and toss them in the trash can. His back had four huge claw marks down the middle; they were bubbling with infection.

"Poison, Jase, poison," I say. He starts to sweat, so I open the window to let in a little fall air.

I pour a bottle of water on his back, using my powers to keep it from getting on the bed. It slowly heals the slices, but leaves bright white scars on his tan, muscled back.

The sweating still doesn't stop, so I give him a piece of ambrosia. I pull back the covers and slide him under the crisp sheets. I take of his shoes and tuck him in like he's a little child.

I kiss him lightly on the forehead, feeling like a mother with a tired kid, when his hand reaches out and grabs my wrist.

"Piper, will you lay by me?" He whispers, staring at me with glassy eyes. Great. He was hallucinating. I shake my head and pry his fingers loose of my arm.

I change into pj's and stretch out in the oh so comfortable armchair in the corner of the room. There, I fall asleep.

"Psst. Lucy. Psst," Jason whispers, cutting through my dream of a man-eating pillow.

"What do you want?" I yawn stretching my legs. The room was completely dark.

"Come by me," he says. I stand up and shiver. The room was freezing. I shut the window and go to the edge of the bed.

"Jason, what's wrong?" I ask, my teeth chattering.

"You're freezing aren't you?" He asks, flipping on a bedside lamp. It illuminated the room.
