Time Chapter 1

Bunch of horses' shriek could be heard from a few steps outside the house. One of people who rode the horse get off from the horse then walked towards the door.

"Excuse me! Excuse me!" He knocked the door.

He tempted to knock it again. But before he did, the door opened. Revealed the male maid behind it. The male maid hurriedly bowed. He eyed the man in front of him, the one who knocked the door. He felt the man was not ordinary man.

"May I help you, Sir?" The male maid bowed and stayed still.

"Is your master home? Is Minister Kim Taewoo here?"

"He is, Sir. Do you want to meet my master? May I know who you are?"

"Tell Minister, I'm King's spokeperson, Lee Sunjoon, bring him a letter from the King himself." Lee Sunjoon looked at the male maid. He knew how trembled the maid by heard the King's title.

"A-ah ye ye Sir!" The maid ran inside while threw a look to his co-worker to escort the King's spokeperson to the house' gazebo.

"Your musical skill is improving, my son" a middle aged man put his tea cup on the table. Beside him, his wife smiled sweetly to their son. The lady was beautiful. And her hanbok that made by finest fabric, also her jade jewelry that decorated her slender fingers and hair.

"Daegam*, our son is indeed talented. Dont you think? I cant believe he will get married soon.." The man looked at his wife who almost shed tears.

"Bu-in**.. How many times I should tell you to not being sad? Our son is just getting married. It doesnt mean he cant visit us" He put his hand on his wife's hand.

The young man around his 20s secretly held his laugh and scooted a bit to his mother."Mother, Father is right. I only get married, not move to somewhere far away. Beside, who going to tease you about your cook, Mother? Father is surely say taste good because he loves you~" he chuckled. But his humour only mad his mother slightly pouted.

"Bu-in haha dont sulk~" her husband added. She pouted more and about to say something when a voice interupted their moment.

"DAEGAM! D-daegam!" A male maid ran to their direction. He fell on his knees while tried to manage his breath.

"Shin? whats wrong?" The young man stood up and walked down toward the maid. His parents also stood up at the edge of the gazebo.

"Hhh... Daegam, k-king's letter hhh..." The maid took a very deep breath before talked clearly. "Daegam, there is King's spokeperson here. He brings King's letter for you." Obviously the news that maid brought shocked them.

"Where is he?" The middle age man walked down and put his shoes while his wife did the same.

"He is at the east gazebo, Daegam"

"What you are waiting for? Lets meet him!"

"Lee Sunjoon!"

"Minister Kim" another young man stood up from his seat to welcome the house' host. He walked to the house owner then bowed 90 degree. But the man who he gave bowed at was laughing.

"Dont be so formal, Sunjoon. Your position is higher than me, I am the one who should bow to you."

"Minister Kim, I-"

"Call me uncle Taewoo like always, we know each other since you were little" heard the older man's words brought a little chuckle on Sunjoon's face.

"Uncle Taewoo, you always being this relax. Even if you knew I bring his Highness' letter"

"Ah! Right right~" Minister Taewoo was on his knees right away after he heard the King's letter. His son and wife followed his action. But their action brought laugh from Sunjoon. Obviously Kim Taewoo was confused together with his family.

"Uncle, the letter I bring here is His Highness' personal letter for you, as his in-laws. Not the official one," Sunjoon grinned. The Kims was relief.

Sunjoon took out a letter roll with royal red colour and handed it to the older man. While Kim Taewoo's wife ordered their maid to bring tea and snacks.

"Hmm... So His Highness wants my son to stay at the palace... Isn't it too early, Sunjoon-ah?"

"With all respect Uncle, I dont dare to have words about this.." Sunjoon looked down.

Kim Taewoo slightly smiled as he also slightly turned around and talked to someone behind him. "What do you think, Kyungtak?"

"If this what the King requests for you, Father, then I will go. After all, I dont dare to bring this family down."

Sunjoon eyed the man behind Kim Taewoo. 'So, that is the man who will get engaged to the princess'. He looked at Kyungtak, tried not to be obvious. Such a fine man. Even slightly pretty for a man, Kyungtak was a fine man and a good match for the princess.

"Kyungtak is agree, then I'm also agree" Kim Taewoo put the roll down.

"Then I will return now to tell King your decision" Sunjoon bowed and stood up to gave another bow.

"Why dont you stay here for a night?" Kim Taewoo also stood up, followed by his wife and son, Kyungtak.

"I'd love to Uncle, but King demanded me to return directly after you tell me your decision"

"He really trust you, doesnt he? Haha"

"And I feel honored that way, Uncle" Sunjoon smiled and bowed again.

As Sunjoon rode his horse a bit far way, Kim Taewoo stood at the gate with Kyungtak. He posed with his hands behind him and looked Sunjoon disappeared.

"Are you sure you want to stay at the palace, Kyungtak?"

"Yes, Father"

"You know there is no place for mistake in the golden cage. Trust no one, dont let anyone see through your heart"

"Yes, Father"

*) Daegam [대감]: His Excellency; usually used for Ministers and anyone in same degree in Joseon Era
