TIME CHAPTER 2

     "Ui-bin*, His Higness is waiting for you at his quarter" the eunuch's voice interruped the young man's thoughts. He turned around and nodded as agreement he was ready to go to meet the King.

     "Please prefer me as a yonggam**, I havent marry the princess yet. So, ui-bin is not necessary at this moment." He smiled to the eunuch then walked away.

     "Ye Kyungtak yonggam"

While he walked to King's quarter, Kyungtak remembered again when he arrived at the capital city of Joseon, Hanseong (now known as Seoul). Or in detail, he arrived at the royal palace few days ago. He mesmerized by the beauty of the royal palace that bathed in mostly red colour. His favorite colour.

When he stepped his feet into the palace, he knew he gained some looks and stares from people he passed by. But he couldnt care less or more. He walked in with confident and arrogancy. Ignored all the stares and looks also whispers he earned. He tried to be deaf and blind. Be oblivious.

Then once again his thought was being interrupted by the eunuch's voice.

     "Kyungtak Yonggam, we are here" Kyungtak looked at the eunuch and decided to ignored him to walked toward King's door. Another eunuch stopped him to announced the King that Kyungtak had arrived. He heard a faint voice that let the eunuch opened the door for him.

He took off his shoes and stepped into the King's quarter.

     "Jeonha***, Kim Kyungtak is here" he saw the eunuch bowed to a man with royal red robe then walked backward to let him gave his respect to the leader of his country.

Kyungtak took another step foward, he put his left hand on top his right hand then bended his upper body foward, 90 degrees.

     "May His Majesty has long live, thousand years from the Emperor of Sky" he heard a chuckle while he still bowed.

     "Enough with the bow, you can sit" Kyungtak bowed once again then straigthen his back to sat down.

He felt a pair of eyes that belonged to the man who sat in front of him watched him. Felt like the King could see him through, but he tried to maintain his cool.

     "How are you, Bu-ma****? You've been here for few days already, yet I can see you today. Forgive me Bu-ma" the King smiled.

     "Animnida Jeonha. So-in***** understand Jeonha has many things to handle, why this useless man should be in His Majesty's priority?" Kyungtak looked down.

     "Maybe because you are my daughter's future husband. You are soon to be my family" the King replied.

     "But still, So-in..."

     "That is enough, Bu-ma. How is your parents? Are they in good health?"

     "Ye Jeonha, they are more than healthy"

     "Haha, I bet your father is still an easygoing person, like how he used to be when we were still scholars in Sungkyunkwan" Kyungtak smiled on how the King remembered his father.

     "Indeed he is, Jeonha"

     "Haha! Your father is a dear friend also a figure of older brother to me. Too bad he didnt accept a position at main palace, I want remain close to him."

     "My father is a simple living and minded person, Jeonha. I hope Jeonha doesnt feel rejected by his old time decision. And I'm sure he will feel delighted when he can visit you here"
