It was Saturday morning and Kim's mom was cleaning the house as what she would usually do. Kim was up in her room studying for her six weekly test that she had the other week. The phone rang, Kim's mom answered. "Hello."she said. "Is this Mrs. Katherine Mills." Even though Kim's father died two years ago Katherine still kept his name for they were a happily married couple and she still loves him dearly. "Yes this is she. "Katherine answered. "It's the national banking agency of Marble City. We are calling to tell you that the we have accepted your application to work as an sales manager in our company. You will start on Monday if that's OK with you." The man said. "Of course,of course Monday's perfect. Thank you so much, I'm so grateful for this. May I ask what time I'm suppose to arrive on Monday?"Katherine replied. "Nine a.m sharp ma'am." The man replied. "Okay, okay I'll be there thank you so much this means a lot to me." Said Katherine. "Your most welcome Mrs. Mills, we look forward to having you in our company. Have a nice day". The man said then hung up. Katherine was lost for words she was filled with glee, she had longed for this job since the past six months and now she had gotten it. Finally, she thought to herself, now Kim and her could live comfortably and won't be suffering any longer. Kim would get her lunch money daily and no longer had to face the shame and ridicule at school. Katherine felt tears coming out of her eyes. She couldn't believe this, things were finally coming around and it would take a while for them to be fully financially happy but at least this is a start.
"Kim! Kim! Kim!" Katherine called out to her daughter. "Yes mom, I'm coming." "Guess what, guess what!" Katherine said. "What is it mom, why are you so happy? "Kim said. "Remember my application to the banking agency? Katherine asked. "Yes mom I remember, what about it? " Kim said. "I got it! "Katherine exclaimed jumping like a teenager meeting her favorite singer for the first time. "Oh my God mom, really, really?" Kim asked. "Yes Kim, yes, I got it". Katherine answered with tears now flowing out of her eyes. "I'm so happy for you mom, you deserve it". Kim said. The two then hugged each other crying, they couldn't believe that after all these years of struggling they would finally be happy. They we're filled with joy for they knew that this was the start of a better life they would have ahead, together.
