"Nate?" Matthew nuzzled his face into his younger boyfriend's neck, "you up?"

"Yeah," Nate hummed, his position on top of Matthew was one they both found comfortable. He was laying with his stomach against his boyfriend's, face pressed into his neck and vise versa. Matthew's arms were wrapped around his waist, pulling him closer whenever he took a breath.

"Good, because I want to get your opinion on something," he instantly felt Nate tensing up, "it's nothing bad, silly. It's serious, but in no way, shape, or form bad."

"Okay, go for it," being completely ready to either get broken up with or told that he didn't want to be with someone who was five years younger than him, Nate was extremely stiff. This stiffness didn't go away when the actual reason Matthew wanted to talk was exposed.

"I want to come out, with you."

Matthew Patrick, better known to just about everyone who has access to YouTube as "The Game Theorist", was gay. No one knew this (or at least, officially knew this. Multiple people that their own suspicions, but the community was nice enough to not speculate upon his request), and he wanted that to change. He wanted to come out with his boyfriend behind him.

Nate, on the other hand, didn't want this to happen. He was worried about the criticism or hate his boyfriend might receive as a result of coming out. He was worried about the questions they might ask like: "why are you, a thirty year old, dating that twenty-five year old?" or "why is your boyfriend so awkward?"

As he went through these questions in his head, he realized it was more him worrying about himself than worrying about Matthew, and he didn't even matter in this. He needed to be there for his boyfriend, the one coming out to millions of individuals.

"I don't want them to hate you. You've come so far for it to come crashing down," Nate bit his lip, screwing his eyes to prevent any tears from coming out.

"You seem to doubt the Theorist Community. They're nice people, Nate! You don't have to be with me when I do this, but I will be coming out," Matthew sighed.

"Are you sure? You don't have to, no one is-"

"What are you so worried about?" he cut his boyfriend off, "you sound very uncertain about this. Is there something you want to tell me?"

Nate didn't want to explain his cautions like this, but he knew he would have to sooner or later, "what are they going to say about us? I-I'm five years younger than you, Matthew."

"Is this a concern you have for me, or you have for yourself?" Matthew sounded disappointed, "because you're not the one coming out."

"Y-you?" he was awful at lying, everything coming out in a stutter or as a question, or in this case, both.

Matthew gently nudged his boyfriend off of him, getting up and walking out the door. Nate curled up into a ball, finally alone so that he could open his eyes and allow tears to spill out. Why was he so selfish? He wasn't the one coming out to literally millions of people! What type of asshole thinks of himself before his boyfriend who might lose people he worked to get?

Nathan Smith was that asshole, at least in his own opinion.

Eventually he willed himself to get up, stumbling down the stairs and frowning when he saw Matthew was no where to be seen. There was talking coming from upstairs and he knew what he had to do. He had to be there for his boyfriend, even if there was a side of him that was conflicting with the idea of doing so.

So, hesitantly going back upstairs, he went into Matthew's recording room. The man was in front of the camera.

"Hello Internet! Welcome to a different kind of video, as shown by the title," he rubbed his teary eyes, the salty water and him not paying attention to the view finder left Nate unseen. The camera could see him, looking in from the doorway with a proud smile, "I've shared a lot of things with you guys. You're like a second family to me, the Theorist Community, and as a result I want to let you all know what's been happening. I've been acting up in my recent videos, as some of you have noticed. I assure you I'm okay, I've just been conflicted as of whether or not I would ever tell you all this.

"I'll just get to the point. I, Matthew Patrick, am gay."

The tears were freely rolling down his cheeks, but he was smiling now. He had already come out to close friends but now he was coming out to a different type of friend: his fans. They were going to know.

"It feels really good to say that. A few people already know, Stephanie, my parents, Jason, N-" Matthew cut himself off, and Nate's heart collapsed when he moved on to another subject, "I know I might lose viewers for this, but I'm okay with that. If people can't accept this little fact of me that won't come up pretty much ever again, they shouldn't be watching this channel. But remember that I feel for all of you out in the LGBT community on YouTube and just in general that have been shamed for who you are. You are all amazing people, and I love and care about each and every one of you. Remember that you are loved for who you are, and if the people around you aren't letting you know that, please find people that will. You deserve everything in the world, regardless of who you love or what you identify as.

"So I'll just close this up by saying-"

"I'm sorry," Nate cut in, and Matthew turned around, "can I say that?"

"Why are you sorry?" he sniffled, rubbing his eyes. The younger man walked forward, pulling his boyfriend up and into his arms.

"Because I didn't want you to do this. You seem so happy, I'm so happy for you, and..." Nate trailed off, "I love you, Matthew. I want you to know that I will always love you and I will support you no matter what you want to do or how public you want to be with your life. I'm here for you."

Matthew was speechless, feeling the arms around him fall. Nate was kneeling down, still in the view finder when he pulled out a small box, "N-Nate?"

"I know this seems dramatic and I'll understand if you want to say no, but I didn't know how else to do this. If people know about you being gay, I want them to know about me. I want them to know how much I love you and how much I want to always love you. So, Matthew, enough about what I want. Do you want to make me the happiest man ever and marry me?"

"Yes! Yes, of course I'll marry you, Nate. I love you so much," Matthew laughed through happy tears, squeaking when the ring was slipped onto him, "it's so beautiful."

He helped his boyfr- fiancé up, turning to the camera and sitting down in his recording chair again. Matthew pulled Nate onto his lap.

"Hi," Nate giggled, resting his head on Matthew's.

"This is my fiancé," he started, "Nate. With that amazing proposal, I'll close up this video. That was just a-"

"Theory, a game theory!" Nate called out with a lot of enthusiasm, then blushed and looked down, "sorry, always wanted to say that."

"I love you so much, dork," Matthew giggled, then turned back to the camera, "thanks for watching."
