Jessa
The first thing I noticed after walking though the door of the house was the smell. Sweat, beer, and god what WAS THAT? I coughed though a cloud of cigarette and weed smoke trying to see where Jessa had disappeared to. It was dark and the music made my head pound with so much over used bass. I escaped the living room where the music was the loudest looking for the familiar short girl with electric blue hair she dyed not three days ago.
But unlike the dorm parties in our college this house was huge, it was located in the richer district which meant more people were there and I was out of luck on the first floor. I cringed when one drunk pushed another and a beer spilled over my chest. I was too old for this drunken free for all, I ascended the stairs looking for a bathroom and Jessa so I could strangle her.
I had class in a couple of hours then work after that and then another class tomorrow night. I didn't have time to entertain three hundred drunk underage teenagers. I played musical doors scarring myself with the practically naked people who were busy hooking up. I stumbled onto the bathroom and groaned.
Jessa sat in the tub wrapped in some passed out guys arms her eyes closed and a beer bottle was cradled to her chest. I slipped off my tee shirt thankfully for my tank top under it before rinsing off the beer and with it soaked I walked to the tub and rung it out over the passed out idiots.
Jessa woke with a jump and a slammed head into the guys chin. Which snapped his head back and into the wall behind him. He groaned and she groaned and I went back to cleaning my shirt before it stains. "Occccceeeeeeeaaaaaaannnnnn." she whined seeing me pushing her hair from where it stuck to her forehead. "Yes?" I asked turning after wringing out my shirt once more. "Why did you do that?" She asked looking at me with anger, confusion, and a bit of blurred irises.
"Because you texted me to come get you, and I'm not playing prince tonight and carrying you out. Get up. I have class tomorrow." I said sighing at my shirt, it was nearing the end of September and I was not risking getting sick by putting the damp thing on. Jessa stumbled up her feet bare and her skimpy party dress was riding on a too personal level. I looked down and got a full view of her tub partner. Tall, dark, handsome, and entirely too young to be passed out at this kind of party with a twenty year old second year college girl. I rolled my eyes at her choice of male counterparts, they were all the same. All brawn no brain and she was their colorful arm candy. "Jessie who is this?" The guy asked rubbing his bruising chin.
"Its Jessa sweets and this is my roommate slash saviour Ocean. Ocean meet Harry. Harry is coming back with us and his friend Shane." "Shawn." Harry croaked getting up slowly. "No way." I said crossing my arms. I wasn't having two strangers in my apartment, and tomorrow three hungover people in the same place. Jessa was bad enough. "Oh please Oce? They wont puke in the car and they will be really really quite. Pleaseeeeeee." She begged like a child causing me to sigh and pinch my nose. "Fine. But they are out tomorrow morning no ifs ands or buts about it. Got it." I snapped at her who nodded and grabbed Harrys hand pulling him along after me. We left the cramped bathroom which happened to now have a line of a few people and went to find shane, shawn whatever his name was.
Why was I allowing two strangers into my house and three guaranteed hangovers tomorrow morning? Well the reason is Jessa. She whines like a two year old and will throw a fit if she doesn't get what she wants. She once threw ice cream back at the man behind the counter because he put colorful sprinkles on her cone instead of chocolate ones. And I'm not going to get into why shes banned from three of the best restaurants in town. We made it to the basement during my mental monologue to find it was even more packed down here. "There he is." Harry said pointing to a corner of the room where a few guys were clustered against the wall.
I watched as Harry and Jessa went to the group. I stayed by the stairs not risking another run in with a solo cup filled drink. Harry extracted a boy who was taller than I was. His ripped jeans looked ready to fall apart and he looked just as out of it as the rest of the stoned out teens here. I turned with a sharp glare to Jessa as we all left.
Back in the safety of my car I watched as Shawn/Shane fought to stay only for Harry to throw him physically into the back seat. "No blood on my seats." I said to the two boys who were now almost fighting in my car. "Guys before she throws you out, and she wont stop either its tuck and roll." Jessa said leaning her head back and I knew she would be out before we even left the street. We made it back the apartment relatively unscratched save for the puke break Harry had to take.
Jessa dragged Harry behind her to her room leaving me with whats his name. Alone. He was cute in a way, still able to not worry about bills and work. It must of been nice. I sighed before gripping his hand and leading him to the couch. "You can sleep here till tomorrow." I said before going and getting some sleep stuff. He followed me to my own room where all the extra stuff was stored. I turned and he was laying on my bed, sound asleep. "Dude so not happening."
I found trying to rouse him was like waking the dead. Damn near impossible.
Huffing I climbed into my bed and created a pillow wall between us. Hopefully I could salvage what little sleep I had left.
