Chapter 2-
The start of a beautiful 'friendship'
Josh couldn't help but chuckle to himself. From that point onward Josh became a self appointed bodyguard for Maddie. He showed her around school, took her to all her classes, helped her make friends and gave her advice on how to fit in at Franklin Regional High School. In reality Maddie didn't need his advice on how to fit in, just Josh watching over her meant that no real trouble would come her way. Josh was not the type of guy anyone messed with. On her first day Josh took her to lunch with him and his friends and it definitely didn't go how Josh had hoped. It was a Monday and on Mondays the boys of the group would eat lunch without the girls, it was the only day they really talked and didn't spend the entire time flirting with the girls. Josh knew this but he reckoned the boys wouldn't mind considering it was only Maddie's first day but to put it simply Josh was wrong. "Guys meet Maddie, its her first day so I figured she could sit with us" Josh stated to his friends. Maddie stood half hidden behind him, Maddie was not shy at all but standing in front of a table full of jocks from the year above on your first day was pretty terrifying for anyone. Maddie could feel their cold stares burning through her, she felt extremely awkward and couldn't help but squirm a little. Josh was angry. The least they could do was say something! As if on command Jake, probably the second most popular guy in the school after Josh, spoke up. "Josh there is no way she is sitting with us," Jake's voice was filled with hatred which was strange considering him and Maddie had exchanged a single word to each other ever, "especially not today." Maddie couldn't help but think that comment should have stung a lot more than it should have, surprisingly Jake's rude comment meant nothing to her. But the same couldn't be said for Josh. "What the hell Jake!" he practically screamed. Maddie giggled silently at the look on Jake's face, sheer terror, was the only for it to be described. "Don't talk about Maddie like that, and yes that's her name so use it" Josh said grabbing Maddie by the hand as he turned away. They had only took about two steps when she heard the comment. "Oh sure Josh just ditch your friends for your new whore girlfriend," a voice she hadn't heard before muttered. This time Maddie was mad and that was never a good thing. She stopped, let go of Josh' hand and turned around sharply her long brown hair following. "I'm not a 'whore'", she said mimicking the boys tone, "and am not his girlfriend, I'm just his friend. Oh and by the way you you better not talk to me like that again because you dpn't want to see what will happen." Maddie turned back around and grabbed Josh's hand marching him away before the guy could even react to what she said. Maddie could feel Josh grinning at her as they approached the school doors. "What?" she asked hoping he would quit staring at her. He laughed and turned away slightly, "You, that's what. I've never seen that side of you before" He says sounding impressed. Maddie laughs. "Well to be fair I haven't known you very long" Maddie smirked. They both laughed.
That really sealed the deal for Josh. He was in love with Maddie Ziegler and he still was. Maddie seemed to fit into their little community in Pittsburgh perfectly. She become friends with Paige Hyland next, Josh's sister, and Paige introduced Maddie to her little group of friends. There was Chloe Lukasiak who was in Josh's grade, Nia Frazier also in the same grade, Kendall Vertes who was in the same garde as Maddie and Paige who was the oldest of them all, 2 years above Maddie. Maddie got on with them easily and the soon became her best friends, well after Josh of course. She started the Abby Lee Dance Company and became a sort of good luck charm for the schools football team. Josh and Maddie became pretty much inseparable and fell for eachother pretty fast.
A/N- I have changed some of the ages slightly and in this story all the girls go to the same school. How are you all enjoying the story so far? What are you thinking about Maddie and Josh's relationship? Should Josh ask Maddie out?
