As we jump out of the portal and look around it's exactly what I expect. Black, red, and grey at every corner. All the colors that represent evil.
Standing before us is a very tall black tower with no windows that looks just like a skyscraper. The doors a made of black pine wood with golden handles to open them. The first thing I see that's not an evil or dark color in this place. We both take the risk of opening the doors expecting to find the worst behind these doors.
It's actually the exact opposite, it looks exactly like a company lobby. The walls are a silvery-grey color, there's a black desk at the end of the room usually to check into at places. There's red chairs surrounded by a glass coffee table and next to it is a coffee maker with cream, sugar and a muffin tray ready and full. But there's one thing this lobby is missing...people.
There's nobody at the desk, nobody in the lobby, just dead silence except for our shoes clapping against the ground.
"Where is everyone?" Holly asks just as curious as I am.
"I'm not sure, maybe they all went home I mean it's-wait a second, it says it's 12:00pm here" I say glancing at my watch. That can't be right, the portal couldn't have taken that long.
"That's impossible that portal did not take 16 hours" She says.
"Well we can just assume they have a different time then us" I say.
That's when the first person we see comes running down the hallway. It's a little girl that looks about 7 or 8.
She has long white-blond hair and a pale face with fear filled in her Carmel brown eyes. She's wearing a long black dress with rips on the bottom of the dress hanging at her feet.
"Thank goodness I found you when I did" she says and her little high pitched voice as she stops at our feet.
We kneel down so we're eye level with her. "Hey, what's your name" Holly says in her soothing voice.
"I am Georgia, I am the sixth child of Nadia" she says. "No way! There's another child of Nadia! I've only heard of five of them:
Shadow
Ledan
Mallory
Maura
Thana
"Save your breath, nobody has heard of me, and before you draw your weapons. I'm here to help you" she says.
"Why help us?" I ask.
"Because I'm not like my family, I don't want to be evil like them, and I want you to defeat them" she says that voice of fear replaced with determination.
"We're looking for an item called the Black Rose" I say.
She stares up and down obviously thinking hard. "You won't find it here, but I might be able to help you" she says.
"Anything to help would be great" Holly says.
She nods as we follow her up stairs into a small room that looks like a tiny library.
"You have to go through here" she says. She pulls a small book and a door opens, a secret passage.
"Thank you Georgia" Holly says.
"I'm coming too, I need to escape my parents, they won't care if I'm gone. I'll be out here ready for when you come out" she says.
We nod and head in, the walls are hard stone, soundproof no doubt. It's pretty small but it works. We come to another door that we have to go through and walk another few corners. That's when we hear sounds around the next corner. We look and we see that the voice came from.
First thing we notice is we're leaded to a place where we are 10 feet from the ground but we're easily able to see where who is there and what they are saying. There are 8 people on a shadow platform that does not look that stable.
The first person I am able to see is the tallest out of all them. He kind of has the vampire look with black greased back hair, pure black eyes, and pale skin (like all people in Shadow's family). He's wearing a purple cape-the color of royalty-with silver and black clothes on.
The person to his right is a beautiful women with no black on, just red. She has long scarlet hair with dark brown eyes to match her pale skin. She's wearing a long strapless red dress that sparkles at the bottom.
On his left is a handsome man who looks 18 and looks like he could be a movie star or model. He has dyed golden honey brown hair with his bangs hanging down by his face but I'm just able to see his green eyes. He wears a long sleeve black shirt under what looks like a bulletproof vest but it has a fancy L in the middle of it. He wears a black and silver belt with tight leather pants with black hunting boots.
Next to the woman is Shadow, he wears a long flowing black cape, with a red jewel in the middle. He also wears a black silver-tinged vest which reaches down to the end of his ribcage and this rests over his long-sleeved black shirt. A gray belt hang around his waist. His pants are the same dark color of the rest of outfit and he has dark black boots (Basically he wears what he did when he tried to capture Beatrice).
There are the three sisters of Shadow that I recognize from pictures in books.
