The last thing I remembered before passing out was sending that message through the communicators. Justine is pretty hurt, we screamed because I swear she almost got her leg cut off.
When I get up I'm lying on the gray grass next to Justine who is still passed out. Wait a second she has bandages and patches all over her body, if she passed out right when I did there was no way that she could've done this.
I look at my shoulder where I got that really deep cup and it's bandaged. I look at the white bandages on my wrists. Unfortunately the Shadow Dagger likes to have a little fun and cut your body up hard, how do you think Justine got so many cuts.
I turn my wrist over so my palms are up and I definitely know who did this.
On my bandages it clearly says in big, bold letters "Hello sweetheart, I'm glad I could help you stay alive. Thank your friends, we made a little arrangement. I'll see you soon sweetheart".
Shadow
I gasp and cover my mouth. I look over at Justine and she's still passed out. That's when I see she has a note on her bandages too but in different handwriting.
"Hey Justine it's Luke. Yes I am alive, I'm sorry but I got tired of waiting. I'll see you again just like I promised"
Luke
What kind of promise could he have made her and what does he mean when he says he got tired of waiting? Anyway I can't worry about that right now.
The communicator is laying right by my ribs and so is our supplies. I open my backpack and carefully take out the Ambrosia. I take a small bite of Ambrosia and immediately I want more, but I can't or it'll kill me. I immediately feel better, and careful unwrap my bandages.
The deep cuts have started to fade already and so have the ones on my wrists.
Suddenly Justine starts to get up and groans because of her pain. I decide to keep her from seeing the writing on the bandage on her leg.
"Hey Beatrice" she says in a tired voice not noticing the bandages yet, good thing I took mine off.
"Hey Justine, time to get up" I say.
She smiles and gets up from the ground.
"Hey what's up with the bandages did you do them?" She asks. Dang it! She noticed, I have a bad feeling about her finding out so I tell the short version of the truth.
"I didn't do them, I woke up with them too" I say not including the fact that Shadow and Luke left the note.
"Well then who-" she says. I'm glad I didn't lie because when she reads the writing she goes into panic.
"Get it off me!!" She says in a worried and scared tone.
"Okay! I will" I say as I carefully unwrap the bandage where the writing was. There under the bandage lies a disgusting purple-red slash mark that goes almost an inch deep.
I make a disgusted face and Justine isn't pleased about it either.
"Here eat some of this" I say handing her some Ambrosia. She eats some of it and thank goodness she did because it's fully healed just a little red, thank the gods because I don't think I could stand to look at that any longer.
"Where are Siana, and Holly?" She asks.
"I don't know, the communicator sent the message and they should be here by now" I say.
We look around maybe they were hiding, or maybe they decided to go home or something. Of course I'm wrong, they aren't anywhere close from where we are.
We decide to wait, if they come they will, we'll wait for 4 hours. If they aren't here they must be back at home.
**********
The first hour goes by fast. I sit as Justine fidgets with the communicator trying to get contact with the others. I think of how the battle went out. I can't believe I was useless for parts of it, even Justine was powerless for a while.Justine lunged at him full force, hoping to use her energy all at once. She summoned lightning in her arrows as she shot two of them, exploding right by him.
She pants a little using her energy up.
"Is that it?" I asked standing up astounded.
That's when he lunges at Justine completely unharmed. She comes crashing down to the ground cracking the stone.
She screamed because of the pain. I grabbed my sword and lunged at him from behind. I saw his black eyes expand for a second. He turned towards me, and took his dagger to block me.
I don't know what his dagger is made of, but whatever it is...it's strong. He was easily able to block my attack.
"Beatrice! Use the water!" Justine shouted.
I didn't know how to do this but I tried focusing my energy on the water, trying to make it follow my command. I hoped it wasn't this hard to grab control with regular water instead of this stuff. Luckily I'm able to grab control, water rises up around behind me gracefully twisting and turning around.
The Shadow Dagger didn't look worried at all, in fact a smirk came across his face.
He grabbed me hard and immediately the energy started draining from my body. The waves got smaller and soon they were gone.
He cut me all over my wrists making me fall to the ground as he drained Justine's.So basically that was what happened in that fight, how were we supposed to know that he could drain energy.
That's when I see bubbles come from the lake. Justine obviously notices it too because she sets down the communicator and grabs her bow and an arrow.
We carefully get up and come towards the shore where the bubbles are. That's when the bubbles turn into waves, suddenly something bursts out of the water...wait a minute not a something, a someone.
They are covered in dirt and muck, all over their clothes and face. I can't tell if it's someone we know or not but he comes onto shore coughing like he's been drowned.
Justine quickly loads her arrow and aims at the man.
He quickly looks up and puts his hands up in surrender.
"Woh! Don't shoot!" He says in a voice that sounds familiar.
"Justine, he sounds familiar" I say quickly so she doesn't shoot.
She glares at me and back at the man.
"State your name, species, and parents" she says, that's Justine, being sure about everything.
"Percy Jackson, Demigod, Son of Sally Jackson and Poseidon. God of the Sea" he says.
