"One mint chocolate chip ice cream please." I waited for the man to fill my cone. Once I paid I walked out of the store and started walking to campus.

As I walked I thought about Shawn and Cameron. They were both bruised up badly. Neither one of them had it bad, just a few bruises. I hope they didn't get into a fight. But Cameron and Shawn are too close to fight but I don't see anyone else. Once I got to campus my cone was gone and my mind was still spinning with questions.

I entered my dorm and it looked like only Lisa was here.

"Hey Lis"

"I was just thinking about you, we should go to Sugar Factory and pick up some." she winked

"Oh my." I threw my head back in laughter.

"Come on I can find you a good one, imagine a good six pack." She said with her mouth basically watering.

"How about we just find you a guy hm?"

"That works too."

"I actually know a guy, you might like." I waited for her attention. "His name is Mike, here I'll show you his insta." I continued.

"OH DEAR GOD. THAT IS A FINE PIECE OF ASS." she started panting like a wild animal.

I held onto the counter to stop myself from falling. Soon she joined my laughing fit.

"If you want, I was planning on going to a haunted house for Halloween and you can tag along. My friends are pretty nice but crazy, you'll fit in perfectly and Mike will be there. "

"mmm." I winked.

"Oh god, we're bad." she laughed, "Can't wait."

"What are you guys yelling about! You sound like animals!" Shawn came in looking tired.

" Yikes."

"Got to go!" We both darted, no one wakes up Shawn.

I silently sat and studied his tall muscular figure. I can't help but watch him as he poured himself a cup of coffee. Shawn and Lisa had gone out a while ago and the dorm has been quiet ever since.

"Are you done ?" I flinched at his voice and looked up to see him a foot away from me now.

"I- I" I felt my face flush. He sat down beside me and took the remote out of my hand. He turned off the tv and turned to face me.

"I heard you last night. Dani, I'm really worried about you. These nightmares you're having can't be coming out of thin air. Talk to me. "

I felt taken back by the sudden topic.

"I just well, I'm getting better I swear. "

"We both know that's a lie Dani ." he set his mug down on the table. "What happened?"

"I don't know" I mumbled. He gave me a look that was urging.

"Voices." my voice was nearly audible but he seemed to have heard it.

" They're always there, telling me to either run or to give up. " I looked down. "I don't know why..."

"Has anything ever happened to you?"

"Not that I can recall, no"

He looked at me, studying my expression. My answer held so much more meaning that he thinks. I tried to hold his gaze but my eyes drifted to the bruises on his face. Suddenly Shawn's face popped into my mind.
