The next morning Lance walked into the dining room and sat down. Pidge had been reading at the table and by the looks of it, Hunk and Shiro were still asleep- well Hunk probably was at least. Keith had his back turned to the doorway, as he stood at the counter in the back of the room to fix himself breakfast. Keith wore a tight black shirt and boxer shorts, riding low on his hips. Lance paused for a beat and regained his composure to turn to Pidge.

"So do girls like guys getting cereal in their boxers? I wouldn't know."

Pidge looked up at Lance, heavy bags under her eyes. "shut up ass wipe" She cursed.

Shiro walked in. Was everyone communing in the dining room right now? "Rough night, Pidge?" He asked.

Pidge nodded and stood to put her plate away. Keith took his bowl of cereal off to his room and Shiro sat down. What just happened? Lance wondered. Why did I notice Keith like that?

"So are you ready to begin a mission with Keith?" Shiro asked, opening a newspaper and beginning to read.

"Yeah. I guess if I have to." Lance muttered.

After Lance had eaten, he prepared to change when he got a knock on his door. Shirtless and trying to balance on one foot to pull on pants, he opened it to find Keith leaning in the doorway in his flight suit. Lance struggled with the leg of his pants and stood up, cooly, as if the past 5 seconds of pants fighting had not ensued.

"Get your lion. We're going on a trip." He ordered.

Lance frowned at the boy. "Fine." He grabbed his helmet and closed the door to suit up before he checked himself over in the mirror.

In his lion, Keith took a second to breathe before making contact with Allura. Lance sat in his chair and ran his hand over the lion's controls. They thought about the events of the morning, distracted.

"Why couldn't that idiot put on clothes?" They both asked themselves aloud.

Allura appeared on the heads up display, standing with Coran. "Keith, Lance. We have an assignment for you." She paused. "The castle is low on energy. Go to the Balmera quarry and bring back a crystal. The inhabitants, the Balmarans, are friendly and peaceful, but I'm afraid that they have been under rule of the Galrans for quite some time. With unlimited access to the crystals, the Galran empire has an enormous supply of energy."

Coran spoke up. "You should also note that the crystals are a part of the Balmaran creature. You must give back to make up for the energy that you have taken. Sadly, the Galrans have abused this and as a result, the great creature is weakening."

Keith adjusted the mic in his helmet and prepared to speak before Lance's voice echoed in his headset.

"Grab a crystal, smash the Galrans- easy. I can do this on my own."

Keith frowned. "You can't even put pants on yourself. I think that I would be better for this mission."

"Hey that was one time man!" He retorted.

"Enough!" Allura commanded. "Lance's inability to get dressed has nothing to do with your lack of compatibility. You two have to work together. That's the whole reason for this mission."

The boys frowned. "Fine." They agreed.

Compatibility isn't in his vocabulary. Keith thought as he reluctantly moved his lion onward.
