The following book is inspired by historical events and real-life celebrities. This work of fiction was designed, developed, and written in the style of alternate history by a one-man editorial team of cultural faiths and beliefs. With the sole exceptions to actual people or entities, some of the characters and events in the book are fictional. Any or some names and resemblances to real people, alive or deceased, have been changed and portayed in a fictional and satirical manner.
Why did I write this book?
First things first, the production of this book was started in 2013 after I was an under-graduate from high school when my mother, who was working as a former Life Insurance Officer now diagnosed with stroke, gave me a notebook from her Life insurance company called Sun Life. At first, I didn't know what to do with this notebook but I decided to write my own fanfiction. At least, it's my own bunch of stories I wanna write. Such a long story.
It all starts between fall or winter 2013, I was confused to write a story until I found a brand new idea, to write a story about a fighting competition, martial arts, swords, freak shows, celebrities (based on Dancing with the Stars and Strictly Come Dancing), demons, deities, and Steampunk genre (e.g. flying cities, airships, 19th-20th century-inspired architecture and ambiance, etc.) but set in 1999.
Nobody knows that there's such thing as a so-so-called Street Fighter and/or King of Fighters fanfiction or something-something like that (don't surprise me.) My inspiration for this book was playing video games while listening to the radio or my Music Player. So I come up with the idea for making Suck'R Punch. Also my another inspiration is the rhythm game called The Rhythm of Fighters.
And speaking of inspirations, the characters, who referred to as DorkDevils (a pun on daredevil), are based on famous fighting game characters from Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat, Fatal Fury, King of Fighters, Tekken, Killer Instinct, DarkStalkers, Project Soul, Guilty Gear, Power Stone, Maximum Impact, BlazBlue, Persona 4 Arena, Injustice, Skullgirls, etc.
Lastly, not just the fictional DorkDevils, some of the fighters in Suck'R Punch are based on actual celebrities and political figures from the Dancing With The Stars like actors (e.g. Kelly Monaco, Alfonso Ribeiro), singers and musicians (e.g. Nick Lachey, Billy Ray Cyrus, Zendaya), comedians (e.g. John Ratzenberger, John O'Hurley), entrepreneurs (e.g. Robert Herjavec), athletes (Floyd Mayweather, Clyde Drexler), reality stars (e.g. Kim Kardashian), journalists and newsmakers (e.g. Tucker Carlson), Internet celebrities (Bethany Mota, Hayes Grier), and other personalities.

Frankly, the story of Suck'R Punch is all about the hero named Sting, an O.F.W. working as a magazine editor in Chicago, goes to the flying mechanical city of Metro Capital to save his missing younger daughter after she was kidnapped by a corrupt megacorporation called the Imperial National Resources Inc. while his wife was slain but his eldest son stayed alive after the incident. Once he's in the city, Sting has met his new friends like Mater, Jazz Jackrabbit, Charles Vojtyla (A.K.A. Tester John Paul II), Ji-Chow Kang (A.K.A .Jay), and Lauren McCreery, formed together as the Divergents, to join a reality competition called Sucker Punch.
Also however, what follows in the story is alternate history or a loose adaptation/retelling of Strictly Come Dancing and Dancing with the Stars. Real loose. Like you read the disclaimer earlier, dear reader/s. Mostly, this is an adventure novel that's intended for kids, teens, and young adults like you. This book has mild suggestive themes, moderate violence, and a little of profanity. (Except the F words, swear words, terms related to racial stereotypes, etc.)
Not just that, this book is not pure nonsense and hodgepodge. I've been editing this book almost every other day. Depending on my weekday schedules. I took a lot of research and design, world building, character design, story compositions, editing, more R&D, and the list goes on and on.
The development of the first book takes me four years from 2013 to 2017 starting from writing an old composition notebook that my mother gave me while she was working at a life insurance company. So I was intending to make a mock novelization of some of my favorite video games that I play. My inspirations for making this book are playing these games while listening to music, drawing, and recreating some scenes from TV Shows, movies, music videos, and video games themselves. They bring me some of my wildest imaginations.
After some years passed, I chose to re-edit this book on Wattpad to get some work. However, I've tried to manage some time like much delays, reschedules, more delays, focusing on household chores, even more delays, and doing more shenanigans kinda thing. Mostly, I've been designing the story for four years and counting despite being diagnosed with Asperger's/Tourette's Syndrome and A.D.H.D. like any "gifted" child in the world who can create some stories.
So, I received some research from books, magazines, tabloids, internet articles, and more. I used to draw some concepts on my sketch pads as well. Well, I'm a wide reader, though. I signed up to Wattpad in 2014 and wrote this book and other works like a DC Comics/Jump Crossover and other potential projects. Then, I wrote this book from my tablet computer to a laptop. However, I took a lot of delays and my book was in development hell because my laptop crashed and due to scheduling issues. And finally on May 22, 2020, during the Corona Pandemic, I finished my masterpiece for a long time.
You might wanna see this book to be adapted into fighting video game, a comic book, trading card game, TV show, a movie, and even a whole franchise. So Suck' R Punch will be the future of Fan Fiction.
