Melissa
After savoring the delicious lemon pie, I leaned back in my wheelchair, enjoying the tranquility of the garden. The warmth of the sun and the gentle breeze made everything feel just right. Onne-sama was sitting beside me, her eyes reflecting a mix of amusement and affection.
"Onne-sama, have you ever thought about what kind of family you'd want in the future?" I asked, still basking in the afterglow of the pie.
Onne-sama seemed taken aback by the question but then smiled thoughtfully. "Well, I suppose I've thought about it a little. I'd want a family filled with love and laughter, a place where everyone supports each other."
I nodded, a contented smile on my face. "That sounds wonderful. You'd make a great wife, you know."
Onne-sama chuckled softly, her cheeks tinged pink. "Thank you, Mel. I hope so."
As we continued to talk, I noticed the garden's serenity starting to lift my spirits even more. The sunlight casting playful shadows on the ground, the rustling of leaves, and the sweet scent of blooming flowers—all of it combined to make me feel at peace.
After a while, Onne-sama pushed me around the garden, and we chatted about various topics. She talked about her plans for the future and some of the projects she was working on. I listened intently, fascinated by her dedication and passion.
"Mel," Onne-sama said as we reached a particularly lovely spot in the garden, "I've been thinking about something. Maybe once you're fully recovered, we could have a garden party. Invite some of our friends, and just enjoy a day outside."
The idea excited me. "That sounds amazing! We could have all sorts of fun activities and delicious food."
"Exactly!" Onne-sama said, her eyes lighting up with enthusiasm. "It would be a great way to celebrate and bring everyone together."
As we continued our stroll, my thoughts drifted back to Desdemona. Despite everything that happened, I still felt a pang of sadness for her. She had been a friend once, and it was hard to reconcile that with the person she had become. I hoped she would find peace, even if it wasn't the way I had envisioned for her.
Eventually, Onne-sama and I returned to the house, and she helped me back to my room. I was still in high spirits from our time outside.
"Thank you for today, Onne-sama. It really helped me feel better," I said sincerely.
Onne-sama smiled warmly. "It was my pleasure, Mel. I'm just glad you enjoyed it."
As I settled back into bed, I couldn't help but think about how fortunate I was to have such caring people around me. Even though things were tough, the support and love from those closest to me made it all bearable.
I drifted off to sleep with a sense of contentment, looking forward to the day when I could be up and about again, ready to embrace whatever challenges and joys lay ahead.
