Melissa
After a full recovery, I was eager to get back into the swing of things. The past few days had been spent recuperating and doing light tasks, but now I was back to my usual rounds with Leo. As we walked through the familiar streets of Regalo, the bustling activity around us felt comforting.
"How's the patrol going, Leo?" I asked, glancing at him.
Leo's eyes seemed troubled as he looked at me. "Ojou, you haven't had any more incidents or attacks recently, right?"
I could tell that Leo was genuinely concerned, which made me more aware of how much he cared. "No, nothing like that. I'm fine, Leo. Don't worry," I said with a reassuring smile.
He looked visibly relieved, though his worry lingered in his eyes. "Just be careful out there," he said softly before we parted ways. He continued his patrol, and I headed back to the mansion. I had been informed that Papa wanted to see me.
Entering Papa's office, I felt a mix of anticipation and curiosity. I knocked softly on the door and, upon hearing his invitation, stepped inside.
"Papa, you called for me?" I asked as I took my seat in front of his desk.
Papa looked up from his paperwork, his expression serious but not unkind. "Yes, dear. I have a mission for you."
I nodded, ready for whatever he had in mind. "What's the mission, Papa?"
He looked at me intently, as if weighing how much to reveal. "We've received information about a potential threat outside of Regalo. I need you to investigate and ensure that our borders remain secure. It's important, but I know you're capable."
I felt a surge of determination. "I understand, Papa. I'll take care of it."
Papa gave a nod of approval. "I'm confident you will. Just be cautious."
As I walked down the hallway, still processing the details of my new mission, Nova suddenly appeared, his face clouded with concern. "Melissa, can you really handle this?"
I stopped and looked at him, trying to offer him reassurance. "Of course, Nova. I've got this. You don't need to worry."
His expression softened, but there was still a hint of worry in his eyes. "I'm counting on you, Mel."
He let go of my arm and walked away, leaving me with a renewed sense of resolve. I watched him go, silently promising myself that I would not let him down. The mission ahead might be challenging, but I was ready to face it with everything I had.
The next few days were a whirlwind of preparation and strategy. I gathered the necessary supplies and briefed myself on the information we had about the potential threat. The mission was not only about investigating but also ensuring that Regalo remained safe from any external dangers.
As I set out for the mission, I reflected on the support I had received from everyone. Their trust in me was a powerful motivator. I knew that I needed to live up to their expectations and my own. The road ahead was uncertain, but with determination and the skills I had developed, I felt prepared to handle whatever came my way.
The journey would be demanding, but I was ready to face it head-on. I took a deep breath and set out towards the unknown, determined to protect what mattered most.
