Your POV:

I looked up at him, trying to come up with a reasonable excuse as to why his name was scribbled in my notebook.

"I'm planning your downfall." I stated as calmly as possible.

"How is my name going to help with that?" He smirked, trying to get the truth out of me.

"Well I have to start somewhere don't I?" I returned his smirk.

He shrugged and started walking away. I started to let out a sigh when he stopped in his tracks and headed back in my direction.

"I think I have something that might help you." He smiled and grabbed my pencil.

I raised an eyebrow and looked down at what he was writing. His handwriting took up most of the space in my paper.

"Who's phone number is that?" I examined the numbers sprawled around.

"You'll have to call to find out." He laughed.

******

I really wished I could concentrate on homework, but it was hard when all I could think of was the numbers on my paper.

The curiosity was starting to get the best of me and my mind started making up little scenarios of who would pick up if I was calling.

It could be his number. No, why would Grayson give me his number? Maybe it's a random number or a pizza place.

I decided to take my chances and hoped that it actually was a pizza place, after all pizza wouldn't hurt anybody.

It rang three times before someone picked up.

"Hello, how may I help you?"

My heart sank, I hated the feeling that I actually cared whether it was his number or not. Of course, how could I be so dumb as to believe that Grayson would actually give me his number?

"Sorry, I was looking for Grayson. I think I have the wrong number."

"Oh. No, this is his number. He's just taking a shower and he left it in the kitchen. He just left in the kitchen. Who's calling?"

"Uh. Oh nothing, I mean it was nothing nevermind. He just wrote a number on my notebook and I thought I would call to see who's it was. Sorry, bye."

I hung up as quickly as my heart was beating at the moment. Hopefully, she wouldn't say anything to him about me calling, he would actually know that I cared.

Grayson's POV:

I finished getting dressed and grabbed an apple from the kitchen before heading outside. I checked my pockets to make sure I didn't lose anything.

Keys. Check. Wallet and...

"My phone." I sighed and went back to the bathroom. There wasn't anything in there other than the usual stuff.

I passed by the kitchen where my mom was cooking dinner for later. "Hey mom. Have you seen my phone?"

"Oh yes, honey. It's on the counter."

"Thanks." I picked it and checked my notifications for any missed calls. Nothing, I guess she wasn't going to call.

"Grayson?" My mom turned to face me.

"Yes." I looked at her from across the room.

"Is there a girl I should know about?" She smiled.

"What? No, why?"

"Well you looked like you were expecting a call. And a girl called. She said you wrote her number on her notebook. You should invite her over for dinner."

"Mom, she's just a friend. Not even a friend actually, we barely talk." I replied. How could my mom possibly think I had a crush on a girl I barely knew? "Did she say anything else?" I tried to sound as casual as possible.

"No not that I remember. Why don't you just call her back and see?"

I decided to take her advice and call her, well somewhat.

"Hey mom can you do me a huge favor? Please? Call her for me?" I hugged her.

"Hand me the phone." She laughed.

She picked up after the last ring.

"Grayson?"

My mom looked at me. "No it's his mom again. I was wondering if you wanted to leave a message for him."

"Oh. Umm, no I was just having trouble with school, that's it." She lied.

"Oh, well Grayson and I were wondering if you'd like to come over for dinner tomorrow. Maybe then he can help you with schoolwork. We insist." I looked at her with a gaping mouth. She just invited her over for dinner.

"Oh, sure. I guess I can go." She answered quietly.

"Mom!" I screamed, forgetting she was still on the phone. I freaked out and quickly hung up, the last thing I heard was her laugh.

"Well, if you're going to let me call a girl from your phone expect me to get to meet her first." She smiled.

I looked back at my phone and saw a message.

Thanks for the invitation, see you tomorrow! Btw nice scream at the end. - Y/N
