Ellie got up from the chair with ease. When she had cancer standing up from her chair was always a long process. She was always in so much pain, and Liam hated seeing her like that. But he still helped her up, even though it broke his heart into little pieces. All he wanted to do was make her feel better, to make the pain go away.
He stood there not knowing what to do. He still didn't believe that Ellie, who was suppose to be dead, stood in front of him. He wasn't the one to believe in ghosts or angels, but seeing Ellie in front of him made him believe.
She walked around him admiring every part of him. She stopped in front of Liam and looked down at his exposed arms.
"Liam you promised," she looked up at him with her hazel eyes. Even though Liam couldn't touch Ellie. Ellie could touch Liam. She grabbed his wrist and turned his arm so his cuts were exposed. The cuts that supposedly made him feel better.
He stood there knowing that Ellie was upset with him. Hell, Liam was upset with himself too. He remembered telling Ellie that he would never cut again. Liam had started to cut when he was in his freshman year of high school. He was bullied for liking to sing, for supposedly being 'gay'.
Then he started again when he found out about Ellie's cancer. Ellie made him stop and swear to not cut again, but after Ellie left he couldn't help himself. It made him feel better, watching the blood slide down his arm was a way of making the pain go away.
"I know," he frowned and looked down at his bare feet. He felt her soft hand touch his chin and bring his face up to hers.
"Liam you promised, you promised me." Was all she said, causing him to feel even more worse then he already felt.
He pulled down his sleeve that was rolled up, and tried to hide the cuts that would soon turn to scars. He wasn't able to pull the grey sleeve down all the way because Ellie's hand was still grabbing his wrist. He noticed the bracelet around her wrist, it was the one Liam had given her after he learned about her cancer. It was silver on the front but tied together by a pink rope. Engraved on the silver was the word, Fighter, cause he knew Ellie could beat cancer.
She let go of his wrist and started to walk out of the room. Liam followed close behind making sure to step over the broken lamp on the floor. Ellie stopped in front of the washroom, her face turned pale when she saw the pills scattered on the floor, and bloody razors on the counter. Her wings drooped down showing her sadness.
All Liam wanted to do was hug her and tell her he was sorry, but he wasn't able to. He would just fall right through her. O, how he longed to be able to touch her soft skin again. And tell her that she could win.
She turned around to face Liam. A look of disappointment upon her perfect face. Her eyes looked into his eyes.
"Liam you promised you wouldn't do it again. You promised me that you would stay strong." Liam did promise, but how could he be happy when the only thing that made him happy was gone. He had no one, except for his band members and his parents, but they weren't the love of his life.
"I'm sorry," was all he managed to choke out. Too many words were spinning through his head, so he wasn't able to speak properly.
"Liam promise me you won't continue." Her sweet voice echoing in Liam's mind.
"I promise," he pressed his lips into a straight line watching as Ellie picked up the razors and pills and throwing them out the first story window into the grass below.
Ellie walked past Liam and up the stairs, her feathery wings brushed against Liam's muscular arm. He followed her into the upstairs washroom where she grabbed a white box with a red cross on the front. She pulled out bandaids and disinfectants. She grabbed Liam's wrist and pulled her towards him, then rolled up his sleeves to reveal his cuts.
She sprayed the disinfectants onto his cuts. Liam bit his lip to hold back in his whimper from the pain. She looked up at him from behind her long eyelashes realizing Liam was in pain. Next she applied bandaids to the cuts. She liked healing people, if it wasn't for her cancer Ellie probably would be working as a doctor. She would rather help people then have people help her.
Ellie pulled up the sleeve of Liam's left arm revealing a few cuts but most importantly the tattoo on his wrist just above a cut. She smiled when she saw the tattoo he got after he proposed to her. It was two rings intertwined together, unable to take apart. Above the rings said Liam and below the rings said Ellie.
Ellie didn't approve of tattoos but this one was an exception, but she never understood the reason of the tattoo. It wasn't like Liam was going to forget that Ellie was his wife, but if it made Liam happy then she was happy.
She pulled back down his sleeves after she was done playing doctor. And put the first aid box away in the medicine cabinet. She nodded signaling Liam was done and could leave the washroom. But Liam didn't want to leave he wanted to watch Ellie.
She sat down on the toilet seat lid while Liam sat on the edge of the tub. She fiddled with her thumbs wondering if she should even ask this question, but the words seem to slip out of her mouth.
"Were you really going to kill yourself?" She asked and watched Liam's head shoot up to look at her in the face.
"I-I wanted to be with you," he frowned looking down at the cold tile floor not wanting to see Ellie's reaction.
She let out a loud sigh, "why?" She asked knowing that Liam was strong and shouldn't fall so far down.
He fiddled with the bottom of his shirt, "I can't live a day without you. We were suppose to grow old together." A tear fell down his cheek.
"I know, but when you find another girl you can grow old with her." She tried cheering him up by telling him that there was going to be another girl for him.
"How do you know," Liam stood up quickly and clenched his hand into a fist his knuckles turning white. "You were that girl. You are the only girl." He paced around the small washroom.
She watched him pace back and forth anger built up inside of him. Everything was finally taking a toll on him, he was breaking down. Fear swept across Ellie's face, she had rarely seen Liam like this.
He turned back towards Ellie, he was mumbling stuff under his breath. When he saw Ellie's face he stopped in his tracks almost frozen in time. He fell to the floor and sobbed, he could no longer hold in his emotions. Ellie got off of the toilet seat and sat down next to the crying Liam, her back was against the cold tub. Her wings were tucked in behind her.
She placed her hand on his back and rubbed small circles trying to calm him down. She really didn't know what to do since she had never seen Liam like this. Yes she had seen him cry and get angry, but she never saw him break down before. He wasn't the one to give up around Ellie, and since Ellie was gone he could give up.
She started to softly sing a song, her voice was beautiful and soothing. Before she could finish the song Liam had stopped crying and decided to turn to face Ellie.
"Don't beat yourself up. You will find another girl," she said stern. He sat up to face her his back against the door of a cabinet. He tucked his legs into his chest and rested his head in between his knees.
"Why did you come here?" He asked wondering why she came to see him.
