Prologue
My whole body was hurting when I woke up in complete darkness all , like I've been hit with a metal baseball bat in the back of the head a million times over. I don't remember the last 12 hours that well but all I know is that I'm in a basement and there are man staring at me.
Breathing down my neck Smelling what's left of my lingering perfume. I can hear little soft chuckles of amusement and quiet Conversation with deep voices and promises of violence . I try not to make a sound to alert them. I can still feel them staring down at me like I'm a piece of meat ready to chew on.
My name is Marianna More I'm 22 years old, I work at a small department store in Manhattan. Just starting to get my life together.
When I was taken by a group of men about a year ago,why ? I couldn't tell you. But when I found out, My heart shattered in two and I was a mess I couldn't go home even if they decided to let me go. I had no home my parents were gone, long gone. They had fled the country just to get away from what was holding them back.
Me
I was a only a baby , They couldn't take me so they sent me to Westbanks orphanage where I would be well looked after and safe until they came to take me. Up until that point my life was great. There was a roof over my head and I was living with the most incredible family after 8 years of going to different foster homes.
Getting older it was difficult to deal with not having any parents. But at the orphanage I knew there were other kids who were like me who didn't know what it was like to even feel love. That strangely comforted me. Trying to figure out how to make friends wasn't hard, but trying to keep them was even harder. We were never allowed to contact them after they left.
