It was around midnight and I was cuddled next to Carl in our bed. Our legs were tangled together and my head was on his chest. I was trying to fall asleep but I just couldn't. Carl breathed lightly next to me, asleep. Lucky. Eventually after lying awake for what had to be at least an hour, I dozed off into a light sleep. Only to be awoken about an hour later.

Maggie had burst into our room, her hair sticking up at odd ends. Me and Carl lifted our heads up sleepily. "Carl! It's you're dad, he's fighting with Pete again!" She said urgently. Carl groaned and jumped up from the bed. He slipped on his pants and a shirt before running down the stairs behind Maggie.

I ran over to the window and opened it up. Cool breezes hitting my face immediately. I stuck my head out the window and peered down the street. Sure enough there was Rick and Pete yelling and punching each other. I closed the window and put on a coat before grabbing a gun, just in case, and following Carl. When I get to the scene, I see Daryl, Glenn and Carl, along with some people from Alexandria. They were all trying to break the two apart but weren't being very successful.

Rick and Pete were bloody messes. They hit at each other again and again. Blood staining the pavement. "Ok enough is enough" I say under my breath. They had been getting into fights every week and they were getting gradually worse. I take my gun out of my pocket and fire one shot into the night sky. Everyone stops and looks at me. I slip the gun back into my pocket and step towards them. "I'm done with you two fighting! Rick, you have a group and two kids to look after. Stop acting like Pete just stole your girlfriend and act like a man. And Pete, you have to get a grip on things! You as well have two kids and a wife. Along with patients to care for. How about you cut the crap and admit you have issues! Now before anyone says anything or does anything else, I'm going to bed." And with that turned on my heel and stomped back to the house and upstairs to my room.

The next morning everyone was silent when I came downstairs. Even Carl. I didn't even care, I was still annoyed at everyone. I sat down at the table and picked at a muffin, Carol had given me. Carl got up and walked past me, as he passed me he dropped a note on my lap. I look over my shoulder as he disappears down the hall. I quickly open the note under the table.
Meet me by the gate at 5. -Carl

I stuffed the note in my pocket and quickly ate my muffin. Running outside to finish my chores while the sun was still up.

It was almost five and I leaned up against the gate waiting for Carl. Finally I saw him walking down the road towards me. I pulled my coat around me tighter and ran to meet him. A bag was slung across his shoulder and he wore a thick plaid jacket. "Soooo what're we doing?" I asked impatiently as I looped our arms together. He gave me a sly smile and kept on walking. I rolled my eyes as he tugged me along with him.

When we got to the gate, he pushed it open jus enough so we could slip through. After that he walked over to one of the motorcycles and sat down on it. I raised my eyebrows at him as I sat down behind him. "Are you allowed?" I asked him quickly as he turned the key. "Yeah, dad said we could go for drive if we're safe." I smile to myself as I take his bag and sling it on my shoulder instead. "Ready?" he asked me with with a small laugh. I pull him close to me and bury my head in his back. He takes that as a yes and speeds off into the evening.

About twenty minutes later, Carl stopped the motorcycle on the side of the road. "Something wrong?" I ask him. He shakes his head and turns around. He places his slightly cold lips on mine. He pulls away for a moment, "I've just been really wanting to do that for a while" he whispers into my ear as he kisses my jaw. I close my eyes and wrap my arms around him as we kiss more forcefully. He slips his thumbs under the waistband of my faded black jeans, pulling me towards his hips. I run my hands through his hair for a moment before pulling away. "We should probably get going" Carl murmurs, sounding slightly disappointed.

I nod my head as he turns the bike back on. As he takes off down the road once more I look at him the trees which are blurs of greens and browns. I wrap my arms around Carl's neck, leaning up to gently kiss his cheek. He smiles and tells me to sit back down before I get hurt. I reluctantly sit back as Carl turned down a road. After a few minutes, we had pulled into a neighbourhood. "Do you know where we are?" I ask as he parks in front of a friendly looking house. Carl just shrugged his shoulders and took the bag from me. I just thought we could see what was here. I smile as I lace our fingers together.

Carl pushed open the door and a cloud of dust attacked our faces. I coughed and waved it away as we stepped over the threshold. I gasped as I looked into the living room. Three dead people were strewn on the furniture and ground. Skin hanging off of their body as flies buzzes lazily over them. On far wall, written in what looked like blood were the words, god forgive us, for we have sinned. Lying on the table was a gun, most likely used to kill themselves. Carl turns my head away from the scene. "You don't need to see that" he said quietly to me. "I've seen worse" I mumbled.

Carl and I walked into the kitchen. It was fairly clean and the cupboards still had some food in them. Carl grabbed a box of crackers and some cookies. "Madam" he said in a bad British accent. I blushed and bit into a salty cracker. Carl retrieved two bottles of water from his bag and handed one to me. "Thanks" I say as I take a big gulp of water. "You're welcome" he replies, his mouth full of food. I grab a cookie and stuff it in my mouth greedily. Surprisingly it was pretty good.

About half and hour later we wondered upstairs to see what there was. We came across a room that looked like it had belonged to a teenage girl. A couple posters of Twilight were hanging on the blue walls. Teen books were lined up neatly on a bookshelf and tons of CDs were haphazardly lying on the desk. I sat on the bed as Carl opened the closet. A bunch of clothes were hanging in it and I jumped up. Carl moved over as I threw a bunch of clothes into a bag I'd found on the floor. "Take it easy" Carl says with a laugh. I smile and stick my tongue out at him.

As I continued to look in the closet, Carl found an old iPod in the desk. To our luck it turned on and had lots of battery left. I laid down on the bed as Carl scrolled through their music. Eventually he found something. He turned it up as high as it'd go and laid down beside me. He stretched his arm out and I rested my head on it. The opening chords to Elton Johns, Tiny Dancer, began to play. I smiled as I listened to the soft beat. "I love this song" I sigh, Carl kisses my forehead, "I know" he whispered. "Will you dance with me?" I ask him sweetly. He smiled and got up. As the song continued to play, we slowly danced in circles. The course began to play and we both softly sang it. "Hold me closer tiny dancer, count the headlights on the highway!" I looked into Carl's eyes as we both sung the lyrics. "Lay me down in sheets of linen" Carl stared at me longingly as he sang that part. He pulled me over to the bed and kissed me hurriedly as the song continued to play. He pushed me down and kissed my neck and then my jaw and then he made his way back to my lips. "I love you" he whispered as he laid down on top of me. I wrapped my arms around his back and kissed his neck, "I love you too, Carl Grimes." As we continued to stay in our perfect little forever, Elton John sang the chorus one last time. "Hold me closer tiny dancer, count the headlights on the highway! Lay me down in sheets of linen, you had a visitor today!"
