"Don't worry so much, I've known Tekkit for a few years now, plus she has FrozenAngel and Pyro with her. They're more than capable of handling this as long as they stick together." Emerald heard the Meritorious Partnership's ranger explain with a decent amount of confidence in her allies. "I shouldn't have permitted those other two to run in after the berserker..." The lava mod sadly stated, Jay walked up and patted his comrade on her shoulder.
"Uh, hello? Were you at the tournament three days ago!? Aw man... we got WRECKED!" "Yeah, I heard you the first time you said that, Jay, but we had a limit put on the power we used to fight them, these hackers could be completely invincible for all we know." She sighed, then glanced over at the other mod as she approached. "Emerald, it's not like they're your kids, you don't have to worry so much. Jay does have a point, as well. The members of the Meritorious Partnership are exceptionally strong, beating four mods is no simple feat; even if we had limited power, we still had the majority of our abilities enabled." Romani smiled reassuringly at the other two mods.
"Not to mention the blatant fact that that berserker of their's was holding back, even when fighting mods, and the way she fought during the final round..." Sashimi walked up, seemingly reflecting on something she saw. "Oh yeah, she was out of the main battle for most of the fight, but I never looked away from there to see where she and the other berserker ran off to." Jay shrugged at his own inattention to detail. "Leave it up to you to forget to monitor a major event. Here." Sashimi pulled something up on her device, then handed it over to the disc mod.
"Wow... this is really brutal..." He commented in a hushed voice, "She does seem capable enough, but until I know what those hackers are like, I'm not going to lower my guard." Emerald reported to the others; all four of them quickly looked over at the portal as it lit up, indicating that someone was coming through. A woman with light blonde hair and mythril armor flopped facedown on the cold lobby floor, "Victoria!" A tall, Russian man bolted toward the collapsed player. "There's their team's valkyrie, but where are the other two?" Romani glaced at Emerald, obviously trying to read her reaction.
"Wh-why would you do that?" The valkyrie weakly asked as she got to her feet, "Why would you make Tekkit promise something so... stupid!" the woman pushed off of the team's medic, glaring at him fiercely. "What-" "Why would you make her promise to sacrifice herself for me!?" The man looked very confused, "When did I do THAT!?... Oh." The man shook his head before continuing. "I was just joking about the whole 'would you take a bullet for my sister' bit, I was just saying whatever cliché phrase came to mind when I first met her-" "Was THAT why you told me to go ahead and set the event portal while you went and got Tekkit!? So you could MESS with her!?" The valkyrie looked livid, and at the same time, extremely afraid.
"Angel, what happened in there?" The team's morph asked in a concerned tone as the rest of the Meritorious Partnership joined the medic and valkyrie. "The hackers, they had, they were able to HURT us, and not just the type of damage that lowers your health bar. It REALLY hurt." The woman cupped her hands over her mouth, tearing up slightly. "When they shot me in the leg, it hurt SO MUCH, and then Tekkit got shot! And the hacker's attacks don't cause any damage to your health bar, and they said that we can't escape through the portal once- Oh no..." The valkyrie shuttered, "Tekkit and Pyro are still in there!! We have to help them!!!".
She went to run back into the portal, but Jay blocked her, "If the situation is THIS dire, then we can't allow any more players to get involved." He sternly explained. Emerald tightened her lips, then turned towards the six coders at the sidelines, "Any luck getting our mod abilities back?" The two workers assigned to the task by their superiors shook their heads. "Then change your focus, just make it so I can get into the area." Emerald commanded, making all of the field working coders look up in shock, "I mean, it would be an easier task, but-" "Then hop to it!".
