Chapter 2 -
(Joan's POV )
It's officially been nine months since I've met Charlee Noelle. I felt sick most of the time because of how disgusting I felt, of how long this was taking me. I hadn't hooked up, kissed, or even briefly talked about wanting her like that. I felt this strange fear, that she would leave, if I approached her too quickly. I occupied myself when I wasn't with Charlee by hooking up with different people, and she knew that. She was okay with that. I hadn't told her about hooking up with girls though. Again, I didn't want her to be freaked out by me.
But tonight this was it. I'm fed up with myself acting like a pussy and not even coming close to hooking up with the drop-dead gorgeous blonde that I can now officially call my bestfriend.

I was driving down the dark road alone, almost nearing Charlee's house for a suprise visit. Hopefully she wasn't sleeping. I was taking her out tonight. I was greatful for the warm, humid summer night, and you could make out every single star that exsisted in the sky it seemed.
As I approached her house, I could see no cars in her driveway, just like she had mentioned a day before, her parents were going to be out of town for the weekend.
I parked my car infront of her house, shutting it off before I pulled out my phone and checked the time. 1:06am.
I stepped into her yard and quietly made my way towards her bedroom window which was in the front of the house, thankfully. I took a deep breath before tapping on her window.
No response, and her room was dark.
I tapped a little louder. "Charlee," I said, hopefully loud enough for her to reconize my voice.
And then I tapped the window again, harder.
I saw a light come on, and then her curtain peeked open.
"Charlee, it's me, Joan." I said a little louder for her to hear through the window.
She pulled open the curtains and opened the window.
She looked taken back and a little disoriented by my pressence. She blinked a couple times before she managed to speak.
"Joan, your visit would be enchanting if it wasn't 1 o'clock in the morning," she stuttered, a sexy, sleepy tone in her voice. "What the f*ck are you doing here?"
I smiled sheepishly, stepping into her room.
She stared at me, her hand on her hip. Her long blonde, wavy hair was piled onto her head in a messy bun, her loose tanktop rifled up a bit and she was wearing black sport shorts. She wore absolutely no makeup, but she was just as breathtaking.
"I um." I peered around her room, lit only with her lamp on her nightstand, her bed messy from her interuppted sleep. "I just wanted to see you."
She peered at me skeptically, closing the window. "Well, if you're going to stay, atleast take off your shoes."
I chuckled under my breath, looking at her awkwardly before slipping off my shoes.
She bent down and grabbed my shoes, setting them in her closet.
She glanced over at me hesitantly, sleepiness still apparent on her face. "Is everything okay, Joan?"
I slid off my jacket, thankful for the warmth of her room and I sat down on her bed. "Yes. I didn't think you wanted to spend the weekend in an empty house, anyways."
She smiled excitedly and climbed onto the bed, pulling the covers over her little form and snuggling back into the warmth, yawning. "You could have warned me, I look horrid."
"No you don't," I said, patting her thigh over the covers. "I'm actually suprised. I didn't think someone could look as amazing as you do without makeup." I blurted out and suddenly regretted it because of the look of genuine suprise on Charlee's face. I cleared my throat and smiled nervously.
"Thank you." she replied softly, glancing down at the sheets.
I decided I would wait to tell her I planned on taking her to a late party at my friend Derrick's house, because she still looked so tired.
"You're welcome." I answered her, carefully taking off my bag I had packed and set it at the foot of her bed, climbing into the covers with her.
"I'm actually happy to see you," she whispered, glancing side to side before leaning up, a fuzzy red blanket wrapped around her figure. "I was afraid of being alone for so long. Like, what if I was inconspiciously murdered? No one would find me for two days." she frowned.
I rolled my eyes at her. She was always so paranoid of the silliest things. "Well, I'm here now, so I wouldn't let that happen." I gave her a smirk.
She eyed me. "Oh, you would stop a blood-thirsty murderer? How?"
"I would fight, duh. And I would win because I'm amazing." I flashed a half-smile before I wrapped my arms around her waist, she yelped, as I pulled her into my chest, blankets surrounding our forms as I embraced her warm body to mine.
She giggled as she was basically snuggled into my lap, her head resting against my shoulder and her body tucked into mine. "I don't think you would win, Joan, but if you insist." she said to me, teasingly.
I rolled my eyes again. "Psh."
She yawned and pulled away from my embrace, sitting criss-cross apple sauce infront of me, the blanket still draped around her. Her features were glowing from the warm golden light of her lamp, her hair messy from sleep, her gold eyes scorching.
I opened my mouth to tell her about the party I wanted to take her to, but she interuppted me.
"Oh!" she gasped, looking outside the window. "It's a perfect night! I want to show you something."
She slid off her bed, and I did too, and she grabbed her comforter off her bed as well as an additional blanket. "Grab two pillows," she instructed.
Confused, I did as I was told and followed her out her room. She opened the back door and my confusion was increasing as we stepped into the moon-light bathed backyard.
She led me to her trampoline, stepping up the ladder and onto the trampoline where she laid a blanket out, and took the pillows from me, setting them onto the trampoline.
Charlee let out an exhausted sigh as she plopped down onto the trampoline, pulling the blanket over her and staring up at the sky. "Look."
I lied down beside her and got beneath the covers, although it was hardly needed, due to the summer wind.
I followed her gaze up at the stars, and I was so bewildered with what I saw - millions of silver stars dotted the ebon sky, a huge silver moon in the center of the sky. It was breathtaking, and I realized at that moment, that I had never taken the time to admire such a thing.
"Wow."
She smiled up at the sky, folding her palms behind her head as she yawned, her emerald eyes holding the reflections of the stars of the sky in them.
I glanced over at her, and she was more beautiful than the sky. Her creamy skin glowed, and her dark hair was bathed in silver moonlight. She looked so relaxed; so thoughtless, careless, and so free as she stared. Admiring, wishing, dreaming in her own world.
At that moment in time I knew that my heart was hers.
