Family Love

Chapter 1. Arrival

"Sweetie, it's gonna be fine! Jare is a dear! He has a son too! I think he also is going to be attending your new school." My mother tried to get me to feel better but, it was not working. We were moving into her new hubby's mansion. She had met this guy a few years ago and they instantly fell in love. I hadn't met him or his son. I had lost my dad twelve years ago, and was fine with living with only my mom, she never brought a man home or stay away from home. In my first year of highschool I had gotten a job at a bakery and I was earning great, I had friends and buddies, but then my mom came home.

*flashback*

I'm in the kitchen, when the door opens and a rush of air enters the house. "Hi mom." I greeted. "Honey! I have great news!" She ran to the kitchen and grasped my hands. I looked at her hands there was a wedding ring that I hadn't seen before. "Mom- " I was cutoff by her finger.

"Riane! I'm getting married!!" She exclaimed. My mouth was agape.

*flashback ends*

The next day I was taken out of my school, said goodbye to my job, and packed my bags.

Anyway, we had now just arrived to the guy's house and were unloading our stuff when I heard a clash. I looked over to the door and saw a guy dashing towards my mom. She dropped the box and ran into his open arms. He scooped her, twirled her around and kiss her passionately.

I rolled my eyes and turned back to the car. Grabbing another box I heard footsteps behind me. I thought it was my mom and her hubby but when I turned around, I almost fell.

In front of me was a handsome Blonde haired guy. "You like what you see?" He said raising an eyebrow. I mentally slapped myself. He would be cocky. "Nope." I popped the "p". "You need help, unloading the boxes?" I looked over my shoulders at the tons of boxes still in the car. "Knock your self out." As he was nearing the car I heard growling.

"Whoa, good doggy... " I started to laugh. "What are you laughing at! Help me the dogs gonna eat me!!"

I rolled my eyes, and set down the box. I placed my two index fingers in my mouth and whistled. The growling stop, and my dog jumped out of the car and ran to my feet. "Good girl!" I tossed her a treat.

"You reward her after almost killing me?! That's. Sick." He shook his head and grabbed a box and started towards the house. I followed, admiring the way his back contorts with each step.

"Riane! Come over here when your finished!!" My mum called. "Alright."

As I entered the house I was mesmerized. It was so beautiful. Golden staircases, floral wallpaper, rich furniture, it all screamed rich. "So where's my room?" I asked still taking in the view. "Follow me." He said. So I did and Luna followed suit. (Luna is the dog)

Once at the top of the stairs, we turned right and my room was on the left of the hall way. "Thanks"

"My rooms right across so shout if you need anything." He said. "Hey, I never got your name."

"Peter. I now know yours, "

"Riane Parkerson."

We both nodded and smiled.

Who knew fate would be so cruel?
