"What are you doing here?" I look up and see Danny.
"I'm waiting on Jessica... She's late as usual," he says with a sigh. I'm not sure why they date. He doesn't like her too much, and she seems like she couldn't care less. Jacob and Denise are sort of together, and Z and Clair are together. I guess he feels obligated to date Jessica; and being the gentleman he is, he actually tries to take her out.
"You wanna sit down?" I ask, seeing him stand over me kind of awkwardly.
"Sure," he sits across the table from me "so why are you here?" He looks me down, seeing how nicely dressed I am. I hardly ever really dress up unless I'm doing something buisness-like or fancy.
"I have a date tonight," I murmur as I let my hair fall in front of my face to hide the blushing. I don't date too often, and Danny is like an over protective brother to me. He doesnt worry about Emily too much, saying she can take care of herself. I apparently fall too hard, too fast; and he doens't like to see me get hurt. It's true, though. I do have a habit of falling in love quickly, only to get my heart broken. Danny witnessed this twice within my first year in California. Thus, he became the over-protective big bro, but I'm okay with it because I love him like my brother.
"With who," he says in a soft yet authoritive voice. He is two years older than me, but he acts much older than that.
"Michel," I say with more confidence. He doesn't react too badly with the news of my date, and he knows Michel so maybe he'll be okay with it.
"I'm not okay with this." Maybe I was wrong.
"Why?" I ask him in a confused tone. What's so bad about Michel?
"You barely know him," he declares. Well, duh. I just met him a couple of days ago.
"Please, Danny, not here. We're just getting to know each other. That's all," I give my best puppy dog eyes, something I've learned works very well on Danny and Jake.
"Okay, but if he wants another date after tonight, he's going to have to meet me. Not best friend Danny but nonbiological big brother Danny."
Out of the corner of my eye, I see Michel coming.
"Ok," I peck his cheek and walk towards Michel, and then see Jessica glaring at me. Whether it's because I kissed Danny or I'm walking away with Michel, I don't know. I don't stay long enough to find out.
We walk up to a limo and Michel opens the door for me.
"Oh, a limo, very classy... and cheesy" I say, smirking. I slide in and he chuckles while he slides in too.
"Are you ever satisfied with what I do?" he asks.
"I was quite satisfied by our kiss yesterday," he raises an eyebrow at me. I blush. I'm never that open. Why did I just tell him that?
"Oh really?" He asks with a bit of humor in his voice. I nod my head, scared to open my mouth again and too nervous about what might come out.
"Are not going to talk to me?" he asks me, tucking my hair behind my ear. I look up at him and shake my head. I'm still embarrassed, and I mentally kick myself for saying that.
"Would this make you talk?" He leans down and presses his lips against mine. I can feel fireworks going off inside my body. I've never experienced such a feeling before; and though it's something I've never felt before, I know exactly what it is. Things get a little more heated; and after a while, we pull away.
When we finally break the kiss, all I can mutter is "Whoa." We're both out of breath, and then we feel the limo pull to a stop. The limo driver opens our door, and we slide out. I walk a bit ahead to clear my head, and Michel says something to the driver that I don't quite pick up. He walks over to me and, puts his arm around my waist.
"You ready?"
"Totally" I don't know why, but it seems as if that kiss just gave me all the confidence I need. We talk and laugh. It's the greatest night ever, even better than yesterday. After we finish eating, he takes me out to this river; and we walk on the bank. We find a place and sit to gaze at the stars.
"It's so beautiful," I say, mesmerized. California doesn't have stars like this.
"Yes, you are," Michel says, looking at me. I turn to look at him and smile.
"That's like the cheesiest line you could use. Do you French people not know how to sweep an American girl off her feet?" I ask him jokingly. He just smirks at me before standing up. He reaches his hand down and I grasp it. He pulls me up and starts dancing with me. Our foreheads touch as we move to our own beat. The next thing I know, he reaches down and picks me up bridal style.
"Ha ha, very funny... Now put me down," I say, holding onto his neck.
"Nah," he laughs with his famous smirk. With that, he starts to turn around in circles.
"Put me down, you freak. You're going to fall," I scream. He finally stops, and we both can't stop laughing. We sit for a couple of minutes before we hear a car horn. We look, and I can make out the limo in the distance. Michel checks his watch.
"We need to get back. Your friends are probably wondering where you are; and if i stay out much later, my parents are going to kill me."
"You're right. We had better get going," we walk back to the limo while holding hands, and that weird tingling feeling is back in my hand and travels up to my elbow. We get in and start back towards the city. I happen to look at the clock, and it says 10:48. That means, by the time we get back to the hotel, it will be past eleven.
"Oh, crap," I say as I search for my phone. I have ten messages from Rachel and Hannah. All of which tell me that Danny was wondering if I was back yet two hours ago, and they covered for me. Danny and I have a big government meeting tomorrow morning; and if he knows I'm out late, he'll kill me. Especially considering the fact that I'm out late on a date.
"Whats wrong?" Michel looks at me suspiciously.
"It's just that Daniel is like a protective big brother so he wasn't too happy that I was going on a date with you in the first place, and... Well... We have this meeting we have to go to in the morning; and if he finds out I've been out all night on a date, he's going to flip," I explain.
"Ah, I understand... So I have to win Daniel's approval instead of your father's?"
I laugh because he does; but even if Daniel doesn't like Michel, I'm not going to stop seeing him. After almost thirty minutes, we arrive at the hotel.
"Thanks for tonight. It was great," I say with a smile.
"Maybe we can do it again?"
"I'd like that," I grin before he pulls me into another passionate kiss which turns into a full out make out session. I've never gone this far this early before, but everything's different with Michel. I finally pull away.
"I've got to go. I'll text you later," I say, still in a daze.
"Okay," He says, getting back into the car and driving off.
I walk up to my room and unlock the door. I wash off all my make up and put my pajamas on. Just as I'm crawling into bed, I notice a piece of paper that states: Elie, you're going to have to tell us everything when we wake up.
I giggle softly and place the paper on the side table. I pull the comforter over my head and have sweet dreams that night about... You guessed it: Michel.
