It has been a week and a half since Jake and mine's little outing. The trust is slowly inching in Jake's favor with his parents, but the trust hasn't had any luck for Sarah's good graces. Tom deeply doesn't want us spending time with the Murtaugh's anymore, so he keeps coming up with things he can do to keep us at our cabin. However today, we luckily got to go over to the house across the lake.
Jake and I walked in hand in hand, quickly finding the fridge as Eddie said that we were welcome to anything we would like to eat. Grabbing some chicken wings we found and couple sodas, we ran out to the deck and grabbed the swinging bench, locking the doors behind us.
"Is it bad that the only thing I like about this family vacation is spending my time with you?" Jake asked as he divided the wings into two different piles.
"No, I mean you should enjoy time with your family, but you did invite me. Don't shut them out, but also don't shut me out. It's that simple babe. But I don't think you and Sarah will be cool for a long time, as you got your parents mad at her for probably the rest of the trip."
"Hey she was the one that told first. No way would I ever let her get away with anything like that. If she had kept her mouth shut, I would have too," Jake said. We ate our chicken wings in silence until my phone rang.
"Hello?" I said into it quickly.
"Hey Lauren, it's Nat!" said a familiar voice on the other end of the line. Jake instantly heard the name of my ex-boyfriend and dove for my phone. He grabbed it out of my hands in my childish attempt to keep it in my hands.
"Hey there Nat, long time no talk," Jake said into the phone. Nat's voice didn't sound excited anymore for the mere fact that I could not hear him when Jake wasn't talking. "So sweet of you to invite us to your little kick back tonight, Lauren and I will greatly decide on weather to go or not together. Do you want to talk to her?" I heard a desperate yes on the other end. "No? Okay. See you soon boo!" Jake said making kissing noises into the phone before hanging up.
"You're mad that he called," I addressed.
"No. I'm not mad. You'd think that if a girl breaks up with you, you'd get the freaking point," Jake scoffed.
"You'd fight for me," I smiled.
Jake thought for a moment taking a long drink of his soda. "But you're in love with me," He countered.
"Undeniably."

So that night Jake and I were picked up by Nat and his group of friends to go to his cabin for a night of fun. Nat stopped at ten houses before the entire car was full. I was almost ontop of Jake by the time we got back to his cabin, and that was probably the reason that he hadn't gone to pick up someone else that he was talking about earlier. There was a count of five girls and five guys. All the girl we talking about who they could potentially hook up with that night. Nat was probably dead set on getting his lips back on mine. I grabbed two beers from Nat's fridge and went over to Jake, sitting on his lap by the fire. Nat was sitting two seets away, glancing over at me practiacally every two seconds. I noticed, and Jake noticed.
I pressed my lips to Jake's temple a couple of times as we all just sat there talking about our summers so far. Nat was the only one with out a girl on his lap. A was sitting next to him, waiting for the perfect chance to take her leap. He got up quickly and went to the kitchen, grabbing a bottle of wine. He walked out and uncapped it taking a swig before saying, "So Lauren, how has your summer been?"
"My summer has been great. I got out of my house for longer than a week, I'm spending it with the best people in the world," I squeezed Jake's shoulder at that part, "And the lake cabin I'm spending my time at isn't so bad either," I smiled.
"Oh no don't ask me," Jake said quickly as Nat went inside again. Jake gave a look before shaking his head. I leaned my forehead onto his kissing a part of his face as I did so. "No more drinking okay?" Jake said finishing his beer quickly. I took one more swig of wine before setting it next to the couple making out beside me.
"I'll be back, I'm going to go to the bathroom," I said to Jake as I stood up. I walked into the house and found Nat sitting directly in front of the bathroom door. "Hey bud, you having a little trouble finding your feet to the floor?" I asked him quickly as he looked drunk as holy hell.
"You could just say walking, Lauren," Nat slurred.
"Okay, let me help you up, " I said leaning down, and grabbing his hands. Instead of using his force to lift up off the ground, I found myself crashing into him. As I tried to correct myself on the ground, Nat's arms found their way around me. I grabbed his hands, and tried to pull them off of me, but he was still stronger than me even when he was drunk. "Nat let me go."
"Why, you used to like it when I held you like this," He slurred again. It was incredible how drunk this kid could get.
"Well that was the past and right now, I would enjoy it if it was Jake, so I would really like it if you would let go of me," I said to him, I looked back and he looked me in the eyes. Out of the corner of my eyes I saw Jake and I knew this couldn't look good if he had just walked in.
"Lauren what the-" As Jake tried to say this, Nat tried to kiss me, and I tried to pull away, but his grip was too strong.
"Nat stop!" I said as I turned my head as far away as I could, but Nat was still semi making out with my cheek.
I was soon released by his grip and Jake was lifting me off the ground. He kicked Nat square in the chest and ushered me out the door. By the time I was ten steps behind Jake, we were attempting to walk around the lake, and I still needed to pee.
"Jake, wait," I said as I tried to catch up to him. "Slow down!" In my desperate attempts to get him to stop, I stopped. "Jake you can't seriously be mad at me for him."
"You can't seriously think that I can't be mad!" Jake said harshly as he turned around. "I know it's not your fault, but we still went, and he still tried. Do you know what it feels like, to see something like that?" Jake asked, standing a couple feet away from me.
"I mean I guess not. But I didn't do anything at all. Nothing like that has even happened like that to me." As I said this Jake sat down in the sand and his head sank down. "It sucks Jake, I know." I sat down next Jake, his head still down.
"Seeing that, it kind of just broke my heart," Jake said, looking me in the eyes. I rested my chin on his shoulder and he kissed my forehead. "I love you Lauren."
"I love you too," I said, and he kissed me softly. "But I didn't get to use the bathroom, so we should hurry home," I smiled.
"Okay," He said lightly. He swung his arm around me and we sat there quietly for a couple more minutes before getting up and continueing
