Chapter1~ Cap'in

~Fallon's POV~

     I sighed looking around the now empty apartment that for 12 years we'd called home... My mother and I'd called home oh and of course I couldn't forget Kia! Kia's a hawk hey don't judge! I bet you know or have heard of someone with a weirder animal friend.

        I picked up my leather shoulder bag that had the few family mementos I'd kept along with a few changes of clothes and of course some rats for Kai so he wouldn't starve on the opened ocean and put it over my shoulder so it hung across from my left shoulder to my right side. "Ready to go?" I asked Kia who cawed a yes landing on my left arm that had my leather glove on it so he wouldn't scratch it up. "Let's get out of here." I opened the door and shut it closed tightly behind me I quickly walked down the steps as smoothly as I could in an effort not to disturber Kia. When I got to the bottom I opened the door of the building and headed towards the docks to look for the ship my father had described in his letter. I gulped as I found it much faster than I thought I would have. See I haven't seen my father in 12 years so I barely remember his face I know that it's his job that kept him away my whole childhood but couldn't of had a different job? Is being an accountant or a lawyer really to cliché?

        I was brought out of my thoughts as I saw my father running and stumbling down the gangplank to me "Fallon is that really you?!"

         I smiled as much as I was mad at him I can't be any more the fact that he wanted me with him is good enough for now. I nodded "Ya dad it's really me." I ran and met him in the middle of the gangplank giving him a one armed hug.

        "So this is the famous Kia?" he asked lightly as he noticed Kia on my arm.

        I nodded as my father went to pet him "I wouldn't dad not until he get to know you he's a bit peckish till then." My father nods pulling his hand away and smiling at me "Well I'm just glad you're here."

        "Is this who I think it is Smee?" A man dressed in black asked walking down the gangplank.

        Father nodded "Yes it is Cap'in this is Fallon and her hawk Kia?" my father asked me unsure of Kia's name I nodded smiling and he nodded to the captain I assume "Ya Kia."

        "Mr. Smee you never told me about your daughter's pet bird." the 'Captain' said circling my father like he was prey I couldn't let my father get in trouble so I budded in.

        "That's because my dad didn't know about him but Captain sir Kia here eats rats so if you're ship has rats no unfence but if it does then Kia can solve your problem he eats pests my mother and I never had a rat problem with in our home. Please sir he really is a good bird I'll clean up after him and everything and he won't bite if you don't touch him. I'll keep him out of your hair I swear." I said begging him with my eyes and holding Kia closer.

        The Captain sighed "You're lucky that we happen to have gigantic rat population living in the storage room Kia can stay." I smiled petting Kia down him back and my father let out a sigh of relief. "Well don't just stand there like a bunch of buffoons!" the Captain shouted to his crew "Let's set sail!" He walked back up the gangplank and continued to order people around.

        We followed and once we were on the ship I asked "Father?"

        He turned "Yes darling?"

        "Where are we going?" I asked out of curiosity.

        "Where dreams are reality and children never grow up.......
