Both Kuroko and Kagami were huddled under several blankets as the two slowly sipped hot chocolate. As things had turned out, Kagami's couch became a blanket tent where the two teenagers took comfort in the warmth. So far they had been talking about basketball and school as they relished in each other's warmth.
Soon enough, Kuroko paused the conversation to check the time on his phone, 8:43 pm. It was getting late, and Kuroko knew his mother was expecting him. "Kagami-kun, I should probably get going, my mother is probably expecting me."
"But it is already dark and you don't have a jacket so you will freeze," Kagami replied as he watched the bluenette move so he could get out.
"I still need to go home Kagami-kun, if I run I will be fine," Kuroko replied, as he brought his empty hot chocolate mug to the sink.
"Good-bye, Kagami-kun," Kuroko replied as he opened the door to the outside. Just as he was about to step out, however, the bluenette noticed that the snow was coming down in thick sheets and that he could only see 5 meters ahead of him.
"Actually Kagami-kun, I think I will stay," Kuroko replied.
Kagami was rather confused at that statement but he caught a quick glance out the door before Kuroko closed it, it was a rather nasty snowstorm out there. "Alright, I should go and get a place set up for you to stay for the night." Kagami quickly said and then hurried away to find some extra pillows.
After Kuroko had explained the situation to his mom and Kagami had set up a bed for Kuroko, the two returned to the couch. Instead of making another blanket tent, the two simply laid the blankets over themselves as they sat on the couch and continued to talk.
Eventually, Kagami noticed it was getting late and the two needed to get to bed, so he finally piped up, "Kuroko, it is about 1 in the morning, I think we need to get to bed."
"Oh, I didn't notice the time Kagami-kun, I guess we should," Kuroko respond as he helped Kagami gather the blankets.
The duo, laden with blankets, made their way to Kagami's room where Kagami had set up an air mattress for himself to sleep on. "Kagami-kun can sleep on the bed if he wants I don't mind sharing," Kuroko spoke as Kagami prepared to lay on the air mattress.
"It's fine Kuroko, it is, I don't mind." Kagami rushed his response.
"Kagami-kun should sleep on the bed, it is warmer and softer." Kuroko sternly stated and Kagami didn't bother to argue, it would continue all night if needed.
"Alright, if you don't mind." With those words spoken by Kagami, the two settled into the blankets, but they didn't sleep. Neither one knew who started it, but they started talking again, but not for nearly as long. Kagami watched as Kuroko slowly drifted off to sleep and in a split second decision, Kagami quickly planted a swift kiss on Kuroko's forehead.
"Kagami-kun, what was that for?" Kuroko asked as his eyes shot wide open.
"S-sorry, I don't know what came over me." Kagami stuttered while a light blush enveloped his cheeks.
Kuroko didn't reply but instead thought about something for a moment, and then did something Kagami did not expect. The light haired boy's lips met Kagami in a simple kiss. Kagami savored the light taste of vanilla on Kuroko's lips before the two separated and Kuroko spoke, "Why didn't Kagami-kun tell me that he liked me?"
"I never had the chance to bring it up, and besides I thought it would ruin our friendship," Kagami replied, but didn't let the words hang in the air as his lips meet Kuroko's once more.
Kuroko was slightly surprised at the second kiss, but he soon started to kiss back. Kagami's lips were slightly chapped, but they still tasted like the hot chocolate that the two had earlier in the evening.
When Kagami gently tugged at Kuroko's lip, Kuroko opened his mouth enough fro Kagami's tongue to slip inside. The two continued to kiss like this for a bit until they finally pulled away from each other. Both sides were trying to catch their breath after the long kiss.
Neither spoke as they meet in a short kiss once more before Kagami wrapped an arm around Kuroko's waist and pulled them together. Both snuggled into each other's warmth as the new couple drifted off to sleep.
