JUNG KOOK P.O.V

I suggest you stay away from Taehyung.  You will only put his life at stake.

"What if I cannot stay away from him?"

Then he dies, as simple as that. You don't want that, do you?

"No. I don't."

Good.

I was having the conversation in my own head, it seemed like I was crazy or something in public. I looked outside the window, noticing Taehyung was leaning against it, his eyes trained onto the ground. I have never seen him so serious, so quiet before.

"Good morning." I greeted.

"Yeah." He replied flatly. "Morning."

That was weird , what happened to him. I must keep my distance from him to not get him into any life threatening troubles. I sighed and went out of bed, noticing that the floor was colder than before . I looked out of the window once again and saw white snow piled up till the window. I saw frost creeping up the glass from the opposite side.

Winter surely came early that year.

It will be fun to go in the snow.

I smiled and changed, not bothering to take shower that morning. I slipped into my thickest jacket I could find and threw it on and slipped into my new pair of shoes and scampered out of the room.

"Taehyung? You coming?" I asked.

"No. I will pass." He muttered, shutting the door in my face.

I frowned and went out to the dining hall, seeing many students already sitting there, breakfast smelled amazing and my stomach rumbled as the food cake in view. I took a few sandwiches and a bowl of rice filled with side dishes. I chose a seat which was far away from the commotion.

"Jung kook! Do you want to go out into the snow? The teachers cancelled the activities today because of the heavy snow!" Mark suggested as he placed his now empty tray in front of me. "Can I invite Hoseok and Jackson?"

"Yeah, of course." I replied, finishing my bowl of rice and a sandwich. I did not bother asking for Taehyung as he said he would pass and maybe was not feeling well. I threw the tray to the collection area and walked towards the doors, passing by girls who were cooing over me. I just ignored them and continued walking.

"There's a lake nearby." Hoseok chirped, wrappings scarf around his red neck. I nodded and strolled into the dense forest, the white snow gathered till my ankle. The cold was stinging my skin, overall, the snow along the dirt pathway looked artistic and beautiful. I enjoy a nice scenery.

The trees lined along the dirt path and snow was collected between its roots and branches. I looked behind and saw Jackson carrying Mark on his back. I picked up the pace and was already ahead of the trio behind me. I walked out of the forest and found a huge lake in the middle. The bare trees lined the area and a small dock was situated in front of me. The water seemed much more clearer as compared to the waters in the Han River. I saw a few fishes slip by , causing ripples on the surface.

"Wow." Jackson breathed out. "This is beautiful."

"Let's go scout the area! Jung kook, you coming?" Hoseok suggested, dragging Mark and Jackson along.

"Nah, I'll stay here." I turned down their own offer and went to sit at the edge of the small dock. I swung my feet back and forth which was dangling just above the surface of the sapphire blue water.

I hummed a small tune and looked at my reflection, seeing my pathetic self. I saw fishes and tadpoles swum by, contorting the reflection of myself. I stood up unsteadily and looked at the scenery ahead of me, the barren trees collected with snow and the trio walking round the lake.
