"At this point, we might have to put her in a home". I roll my eyes. My mom is talking about my grandma. My grandma, as shes gotten older, shes gotten crazier. Like calling us at 2 in the morning talking about the monsters. Or running outside screaming. The neighbors try to help as much as possible, but shes a handful. Any other time i always disagree with mom, but this time, i fear that i might be agreeing with her.
Mom continues to talk to aunt Macy on the phone while driving. She turns on her turn signal to turn left when my heart skips a couple beats. I feel dizzy.
"Sapphire, are you okay? You look pale".
"Sapphire?". Mom keeps a eye on me while driving.
"MOM!" i scream at her. But its too late. We hit a deer crossing the road.
I cant remember much, but all I remember is me and mom pushing through the air bags and out of the car, but for different reasons.
She runs to the front of the car where its damages while i run to the deer.
I stare at the lifeless eyes of the deer. A single tear runs down my eye, followed by more.
That day, October 21st, at 8:42 pm, i knew I wasn't normal.
