Shadow:Going Back Home

Author's Note:Let me clear up something. Shadow woke up before the 2 years happened and when he learned that he was a shapeshifter, that's when he does training for 2 YEARS. So hopefully, you'll be able to connect the dots. As you already can tell by the title of this chapter, the 2 year mark is up and Shadow is going back home. Hint, there's a bit of sonadow I guess you could call it at the end. Well, enough of me, let's continue the book!

I was sitting in my pearl colored room with a bag sitting next to me. My room was completely dark except for the morning light filtering through the thin curtains. I had this tugging feeling in my chest. I couldn't help but think about how they'll act. My anxiety will get to the point where i'll start pacing around my room. I heard light footsteps outside, as light as a water drop hitting the floor. I stopped my pacing and stared at the door, waiting for the dreadful moment. I heard three knocks and it was opened to reveal a maroon fox with yellow shining eyes."Shadow, we're ready to depart" he said."Ok, i'll be down there soon, Silverblood. Thank you". Silverblood nodded and closed my door, leaving me in my dark room. I sighed and looked over at the leathery-looking bag, having second thoughts. I was tempted to tell them to cancel the trip, but I shook that thought away. I've come this far, i'm not turning back. I walked over to my bag and picked it up. I took a deep breath and teleported to the entrance of the exact cave I woke up in two years ago.

I saw Alaric preparing a gryphon for me, but there was two more along with it. My ears folded back in suspicion as I narrowed my eyes towards Silverblood."Oh Shadow, I didn't know you were going to be down here so quick" Alaric said in surprise."Yea, so is my gryphon prepared?" I asked. Alaric nodded but the next thing she said caught me off guard."Shadow, Silverblood and I are going to be coming down with you". My ears twitched in surprise and I stared at her blankly. I nodded and got on my gryphon. Silverblood and Alaric got on the other two. I held on to the feathers or fur of the gryphon and it immediately dove off of the floating kingdom. It was diving straight down like a torpedo. After about 20 minutes of flying straight down, the gryphon swerved up by 90 degrees. It then landed on the ground right outside of a too familiar city. I got off of the gryphon and it flew off. I heard Alaric and Silverblood walking up behind me."Woah" they both said at the same time. I sighed and walked into the city. We walked for about 10 minutes when Alaric needed to take a break.

We sat on a bench close to the central park of the city. I saw people giving me a weird stare, a stare that basically says'I thought you were dead and man you changed'. I got it from basically from everyone that walked by. Alaric puffed out air that she was holding most of the time and got up from the bench."Let's keep on moving" she said. Silverblood and I both nodded and started to walk when I heard a familiar girl's voice come from behind."Sh-Shadow?" said the woman's voice. I stopped dead in my tracks and stood there, looking off in the distance. My heart was pounding in my head, making it hurt. I turned around slowly to see sapphire blue eyes staring at me, dismayed. I looked her dead in the eye, keeping it a steady gaze. I saw tears form at the corner of her eyes and before I knew it, she was hugging me."You're... You're alive?" she whispered. I hugged her back and told her exactly what happened. After 18 minutes of explaining, Rouge finally got a hold of everything that happened. Now of course I didn't tell her that I was a shapeshifter and that the monstrosity that was at my house two years ago was actually my twin brother who went insane.

"We need to tell everyone else about this" Rouge said quietly."I know and we will but where would we meet up?" I asked."At Tails's place". I nodded and looked over at Alaric and Silverblood. Alaric had this curious glint in her eyes while Silverblood had something else in his. His eyes were dark with black circles surrounding his eye. He had this evil look in his eyes, almost close to anger and jealousy. In fact, it IS anger and jealousy. My mind started to twist into this dark void and it seemed to enter someone else's mind. I could feel strange waves coming from Silverblood and his mind was filled with one thing that struck my core. Blood. Fountains, waterfalls, oceans of blood. Bodies floating in it and one of the bodies is Rouge. I finally snapped out of it when Rouge shook me vigorously."Are we going?" she asked."Yea. Yea". I stared at Silverblood for one more second then tore my gaze away from him. The entire time, I let Rouge pull me like a dog. My mind was elsewhere. Why is Silverblood thinking about this? Is he possessed? He certainly changed over the past couple of years but I didn't know it was this bad. My mind was snapped of it when I heard a loud gasp. I looked down to see a two-tailed orange fox with a lab coat on and glasses."Sh-Shadow?" he said in an astonished voice."Is... Is that really you?". I smiled thinly, "The one and only". Tails instantly burst into tears and hugged me.

I was surprised, to be honest. Did Tails really miss me that much? I slightly hugged him back and when he broke the hug, he literally grabbed my wrist and dragged me into his house. He stared at me questioningly. I sighed and told him everything- except the shapeshifter and the monstrosity being my brother- and he told me about some of the stuff he's discovered over the past two years."Tails, is there a way that you can call everyone to come here for a meeting?" I asked. Tails nodded and lifted his wrist  so that he can bring the communicator up to his face. I heard some machine noises and he said, "There. They're all coming soon". I nodded and told Alaric and Silverblood about everything, who they might like, who they might hate, or is asi asi. About 20 minutes later, everyone finally came. Everyone- of course- were surprised to see me still alive and well.

 I explained to everyone what happened- yet again, I didn't tell them any of the 'secret' information- and they were staring at Alaric and Silverblood with curiosity or even admired them. After everyone left, it was just Alaric, Silverblood, Tails, and I. 5 minutes after everyone left, there was a knock on the door. Tails went to go get it but I stood up and got it instead. Who I saw made me-surprisingly- quiver with happiness. I saw the usual emerald green eyes and sapphire blue fur. I saw Sonic's eyes glint with surprise and tears? I turned on the balcony light and stood outside with Sonic, just the two of us. He didn't say any words, just stood there and stared at me, tears filling his eyes. I sighed and put my arms out in a hugging gesture."Come here". Sonic pounced into my arms, hugging me to death. Basically-as I like to call it- the Amy hug. Sonic sobbed into my shoulder and I rubbed his back to comfort him."It's nice to see you...Emohog".
