"What is with you?" Ava said in an annoyed tone, "seriously though."

"You want me to pay for those jeans?" He pointed to her jeans and emphasized the word 'those' as if he were disgusted by what she wore.

"Well they're no longer white and I need a new one, plus they were expensive."

"Fine whatever. Here, take this and keep the change. You're welcome by the way." He rolled his eyes and handed her two 100 dollar notes. She stared at them in his hands.

"You do know when I say expensive I don't mean 200 dollars expensive." She said dismissing the money.

"Okay well use the money to find a pair of jean that is less...poverty-like."

"Poverty what? Who do you think you are? Barack Obama?" She waved both of her hands upwards sarcastically.

"No but can you quit the sarcastic attitude?"

Ava shook her head and looked down at her jeans trying to wipe away the stains.

"So are you gonna take it or not? As much as I just love standing here so you can admire me all day, I've got things to do." He dropped the notes in front of her and walked off.

He wore a nude trench coat with the collar standing upright hugging his neck. Underneath, he had a jumper which was worn over a shirt and tie. His shoes were leather brown with punched patterns tracing its sewn line. He wore gloves which wrapped tightly around his hands and Ava admitted he looked extravagantly dashing as if he were Prince Charming. He was strangely alluring. There was definitely something else about him that Ava couldn't put her fingers on.

Ava turned her head to see if he was looking back at her, but like she thought, the boy just simply walked away. But little did she know, before the boy turned at the corner, he too, looked back to see if Ava was looking at him and to his disappointment Ava was simply still sitting on the floor.

She shook the thought away and slipped the money into her pockets and suddenly, Ava felt her lips twitching into a smile. She sighed and walked towards the hospital room.

"Are you feeling okay? I was so worried about you. And how's the baby? Is it a girl or boy? I really hope it's a girl, but I don't mind either way. Girls and boys are beautiful. Am I talking to fast? I'm so sorry. I'll let you talk now, ready set go" Ava was out of breath. Even her own self couldn't keep up with the mumbles.

"I'm fine, really, don't worry about me. And it's a girl. She looks just like Emily." Lucian said while smiling. "What happened to your jeans anyways?"

Ava let out a groan and shook her head. "I spilt coffee all over me. You know how I am, clumsy and all. But it's okay, besides, I never really liked this jean."

"I like it. It's a good fit on you."

Ava smiled.

"So, have you thought of a name for her yet?" Ava said gesturing towards the bassinets.

"No actually, I was waiting for your opinion," Lucian got up from the chair and walked towards the baby. He tucked his hands under her fragile back and swept her up into his chest. Lucian gazed into the baby's eye and smiled. Ava felt something inside of her blossom. A seed of hope and joy.

"How about Joy?"

"Joy Sanders. That's beautiful"
