The day shift had begun. I started my usual routine and checked around the place to make sure everything was in order. I kind of already knew everything was in order, after all I work the night shift too. But I made sure everything was ready for the children and so that the boss didn't get mad at me for not checking. But this is a job that only pays 8 dollars an hour so if I get fired I bet I could find a better paying one anyways. But this morning, I noticed something different. There was this little girl named Carly who came everyday to the daycare, but today she wasn't here. I thought she must have gotten sick but I started to notice day after day that she still wasn't here. I didn't think much of it I just kept following the routine like usual but yesterday night was different.
