I woke up back in my bed or crib. The sun shined bright finally some sun in the morning. Shade immediately covered my face as Sosy blocked the sun. She is furious with me.

"Oh my goodness I tell you to meet me after school and guess what Little Ms. Crybaby does?" Sosy pushes the buttons to let the crib down. I wipe my eyes from my morning tears as she continues to talk about yesterday. "Little Ms. Thang thinks she can just flaunt around with boys." I frown at her stupid accusation.

"Come on breakfast is waiting." I hop out of bed flustered with her she's so annoying. She starts rushing me as we walk down the stairs. "Anyway you didn't have to basically kidnap me from Tim's place." She embarrassed me in front of him and Alfred. Alfred was about to give me the leftover carne asada fries but no she had to make a scene and pretend to be my flippin mother!

Great now Alfred thinks we're vegan! No offense to vegans.

He will never make food for me again!

"Wait!" She stopped me before I was able to take one last step. She covered my eyes and guided me to a seat I'm guessing at the table.

Something smelled like it was burning. Did she set the kitchen on fire!

She moved her hands from my eyes and I was surprised.

Pancakes and ice cream were staring at me in the face with pink icing and candles forming a C wishing me a happy birthday.

Sosy remembered my birthday and I didn't.

"Well, the candles ain't gonna go out themselves." She was standing behind me with one hand on my shoulder. She ran upstairs running through out the house. "Mom went to Aunt Ivy's and dad's at work." She pushed the plate of pancakes at dad's seat. "A queen that slays must always sit at the head of the table." I was so excited no one is allowed to sit at dad's seat under no circumstance.

"What if we get into trouble?" Honestly right now I'm hovering over it and I never felt this close to his chair. Never sitting in dad's chair was just a rule we had to follow. Even Sosy followed it when no one was home. For some reason I think Sosy got into big trouble for it and that's why she rarely mentions his chair. Or when she does and mom is there mom would shoot her look and punish her later.

"Don't worry about it." Sosy said handing me a knife and fork. For the first time I can cut my own pancakes.

Immediately I cut the best way I could and shoved them in my mouth. I closed my eyes and appreciated this taste of freedom and rebellion. I looked up and saw Sosy smile I haven't seen that in a while.

When she noticed I was staring she stopped and went back to her low key smile.

I'm so glad she's here with me.
