I reread the letter ten times. I had to run. I had to run. Would it be as easy as I planned? I was at an emotional high. I quickly packed my bag with clothes and money. I took a deep breath and swallowed my nervousness.
I ran my hand through my hair. I tried to stop shaking. I opened the window. My wings happily fluttered. I grabbed the dye and smoothed it over my wings. I slid out and moved through a group of mystified girls.
The wind blew my hair into fabulous braids. My wings tried to break through the dye. I reached the gate. I opened the gate but, was turned around. Someone tugged me to face them. His wings had cracking blue shards revealing a bright orange. I felt trusting in him. His eye had glowed green. His blonde hair bangs covered the top of his eyes.
The boy pointed to an orange crack in my wings. He held my hand as we left the sanction. I saw the cave and led him to it. We kept quite in case some one would stop us.
There were two people there already. I tripped and the boy caught me. I decided to speak first.
"Who are you guys?" The boy who came with me spoke first.
"I am Jacob." I looked to the red headed girl who looked as if she just got here before us. She looked at the brown haired boy who finished wiping the dye off his wings.
"I am Emma and that's Kasey. Who are you?"
"I am Annabella. You can call my Annabella, Anna, Belle, or Bella."
"Wait! You're Caroline's daughter?!?" Emma asked excitedly.
"I just found out too. Anyways... Has anyone seen my bracelet."
"Here." Jacob handed my bracelet showing me his pearly whites.
"Everybody ready to rip off their wings?" Kasey asked depressed.
"Actually, I had an idea!" I replied, "Why don't two of us rip our wings of at a time? This way we will be cared for during the pain. How about ladies first?" I looked hopefully to Emma.
"That works. I can get it over with. Ready?"
"Yes. Three. Two. One. Rip!" The sound of my wings being torn filled the cave. It echoed and I fell. I fell into something soft though. The pain laced through my back.
