Chapter 8

Eventually, Gage let me get changed so that we could go and meet his sister- not like he wanted to but I did, everyone had said that she was a very cunning little girl and loved to tease and taunt her brother, so we will have to become best friends so I can join in.
"I'm ready!" I called to Gage, there had been a rogue attack recently and he made me call out every time I was moving to a different room so that my two guards, Oscar and Jack, could be by my side within minutes. If I had my own way, I wouldn't have any, but Gage is too overprotective for that, just adding to how much I liked him. Yeah I know, I've just met him and I already love him, but that's what mates do don't they?

I was still trying to work out the many corridors of the house and had to ask a few people which way to go to get to the kitchen, what can I say? I'm a girl that likes to eat. Finally reaching the kitchen, I saw a few apples on the side and realised nobody else was here and decided to just wait for them there, I was usually in the kitchen so they will know where to look by now, and if not then there was always the pack mind link. This is where the pack can communicate with each other by imagining what they want to say and sending it to whoever they want in the pack, sort of like a mental email to pack members only.
'What do you think his sister is going to be like' Amelia asked, snapping me out of my thoughts and daydream about what it would be like with the mind link.
'I don't know but I smell something that I don't recognise and it doesn't smell good...'
I lifted my nose to the air and that's when I realised what Amelia was talking about, it was a mix of rotten flesh and silver, filling my nose and making it burn while Amelia tried to separate our senses so that neither of us could smell it so strongly, that way we would go off my human senses and hopefully dull the burning in my lungs and nose, but she was unsuccessful. I ran to the window and lifted the window in an attempt to rid the room of the pungent smell.
'Stop, stop, NO, NO STOP LILIA YOU HAVE TO STOP!' Amelia screamed in my mind.
'What is it Amelia?'
'Rogues and hunters, working together... she said barely above a whisper.
That was the last I heard before the door to my room was knocked down and a bag was put over my head, smelling strongly of rogues.
