The rain pores down loudly. I brush off my pants as I stand up. Edgar Stares at me with an innocent look on his face, but unfortunately for him, it's not fooling anyone. As I'm about to wipe the slobs off of my face, Edgar run to the door and barks. "Who is it Edgar"? I ask him wearily.
"We're not expecting anyone today".
One part of me is hoping that it's mum, but also another part knows that she's never coming back.
I walk up to Edgar, still barking. Two figures are outside the door.
"Amethyst, can you please open the door".
My hope washes away as I hear my dad's voice.
"Can you please hurry up, I'm as wet as a dog out here!" My step mum moans.
