"So what do you think will happen at school today?" My Mum asked me from the front seat. "I don't know," I replied, shrugging my shoulders.
"Chrissie?"
"Well, I'll see Ella and Sasha again. It was Sasha's birthday on Saturday, so I can give her her present," My twin sister Chrissie started excitedly. She started talking about her friends at school, but I wasn't really paying attention. My name's Sierra Nook. I moved to this town a week ago, so I'm still the new girl at school. I haven't made any friends yet so I've just been sticking with my sister. I'm quiet and shy, but my outgoing sister has made a group of friends already. I twirled my black pigtail around my finger and stared out the window. I really wanted friends. Not many, just two or three. I really wanted to be friends with the most popular girls in school, Malisca and Keeva. But getting close to them? No chance. I'm just too shy. I thought about that the whole way to school. "Sierra, we're here," Mum interrupted my thoughts.
"Yeah, Sierra wake up!" Chrissie said loudly. I undid my seatbelt and opened the door of the car. There I saw a long black limo. Many people had gathered around it, most of them being friends of the girls inside. Chrissie stared at it; she hadn't seen it before. The door opened and out stepped Malisca and Keeva, glamorous as ever. They were quickly swallowed up by the loud, chattering crowd. I kissed Mum goodbye and followed the crowd inside.I sat down at my desk and pulled out my homework. Mrs Bentley walked into the noisy classroom, which instantly became silent. Mrs Bentley smiled. "Good morning class. Today is a busy day. First we have a spelling test. Get out your test book and we will begin." She addressed the class. Lila Maski raised her hand. Mrs Bentley nodded at her. "Have our DNA tests come back yet?" She asked.
"Yes they have." An excited murmur travelled through the class.
"Finally!" Keeva said loudly. The class laughed and Mrs Bentley smiled at her.
"Yes, finally. You'll receive them after recess. But first, our spelling test," Mrs Bentley said with finality. The class pulled out their books and started the test.
