Behind The Camera

The Aftermath.

Pushing the record button Laura smiled softly but there was a defeat behind her eyes she adjusted her hair only slightly and placed her hands down onto the wooden desk infront of her "hello there...anyone who is still watching...Its been a week after the blow  up of the battle with silas university. Some may say that the victory in its self is enough for just all to be happy." The light from her eyes faded for a split second as she stared just off camera the past two years rushing through her head. The young blonde shook her head and pushed a smile onto her lips "but we lost alot.." her head began to replay the image watching Danny slip away beneath her hold and it hurt wiping away the tears she hadn't even noticed roll down her cheek she swallowed "Danny was a fighter and she fought for the right side and I'll never forget what she.." by now her words her inaudible from her tears. Her throat had closed and her body had shrunk down into her arms against the desk.

Feeling a pair of hands on her shoulders Laura jumped lifting her head to turn she was met with a soft smile from Laf, they slowly pulled her into a hug and sunk down to sit the chair beside her. Laf glanced to the camera before they smiled once more it had understanding for how laura felt laced behind it "hey...it's over now we won?" Using their hand to raise Laura's face to look at them "I know it's hard you lost danny..Carmilla lost Mattie" Laura's face drops as she remembers rhe hetic past couple of days "oh God Carm...I hadn't even thought about what to do about her Laf...she's in the right to hate me but I haven't seen her in around 5 days.." She begins to get worked up again and is calmed once more by another tight hug by the nerdy ginger one beside her.

Day ten with no carmilla and Laura has thrown herself into cleaning the deans place, it has alot of memories and around ninety percent of those were bad. And if not because of that well it was just a mess in general with six people give or take kirsch and danny when they used to drop by it was bound to pile up. "Laura?!...we're off now" she heard from the other room she frowned but still scurried through to the giant wooden front door which was now filled with Perry and Lafontaine surrounded by suitcases and bags and God knows what science equipment they have packed "aw I can't believe you guys are going to finally have a good summer break! You deserve it" Laura wrapped her arms around Perry who returned the fond embrace with a little sadness "we sure deserve it after the nightmare that is silas..." she trailed of when she realised Laura would be remaining for the summer "oh I'm s..." "no no don't be ridiculous get out of here and be free" she smiled and wrapped her arms around Laf with a little more conviction she was going to miss them for sure "bye!.. I'll bring to back a sample!"  Laura chuckled and closed the door being met with a strong silence.

With another three hours of deep scrubbing and rearranging under her belt she threw herself down onto the reading chair in the main room and sighed "there...clean" pulling off her rubber gloves she threw them into the bucket and laid back on the chair. Her brows knitted together as she brought her fingertips to the soft red upholstery. It only reminding her of one person..Carm.  If Carmilla would be anywhere during the day it would be here book in hand and a smirk on her face judging the whole room without saying a word "get it together laura!" She muttered to herself and stood up looking down at the chair one last time then around the whole room it was spotless and everthing was in the perfect place. She smoled quite proud of her work, as a yawn crept up her body she stretched her arms out and sighed "forever the forgetful laura." She muttered as she spotted the red light still on the camera, leaning in she turned it off and sleepily made her way to bed.
