That's my name, don't wear it out.
I guess, that freaky stuff, like, the powers and the monsters, started when the blossom had fallen from the trees, and the sun had finally come out in what had felt like forever. School had just finished, and I was finally moving up to secondary. It was the fourth day of the summer holidays, and Colin, my brother, was busy playing Destiny or something like that.
I was busy sketching a picture of Colin getting eaten by a giant video game controller, (it was going quite well actually), when my mum and dad came up to my room.
"So, Faith" my mum said, trying to appear normal and failing miserably, "we think that you need to get out of the house for a bit, you know, experiencing the outdoors and stuff."
"Mum, what do you want?"
"What are you talking about?" she said "I just want to send you to summer camp!"
"WHAT!" Screamed Colin, who had probably been listening from his bedroom.
"WHAT!" I screamed, as I had been listening from my bedroom.
"Now, there's no need to overreact," said my dad.
"Besides, you're leaving tomorrow"
Cue more WHAT's.
It was the next morning, and I somehow managed to drag myself out of bed. I walked downstairs, but realised that I had forgotten something. I couldn't remember what, but by then I had reached the kitchen. Then I remembered.
In the kitchen was a huge banner, saying "Good luck at summer camp!"
"Yeah, wasn't just a nightmare" Colin muttered, sitting on the sofa, on his laptop.
My parent's came downstairs from their bedroom, looking much more excited than we were.
"Well," my parents said, "are you looking forward to summer camp?"
"No," Colin and I both said immediately.
"Oh well," my dad said, "get some breakfast inside of you and let's go. You had better be done by 8:00"
At 10:00, we jumped in the car, after much shouting from my mum, and left the house. Little did I know that soon, I would wish I had begged not to go...
