The Anti-Humans Chapter 5

"Arghhh!"

The scream immediately wakes me up, and I spring from my bed. As I fell asleep in my clothes the previous night, I had no need to get dressed. I looked to my right, and noted that Candice's bed was still empty. I opened the cabin door, and another scream shook me, coming from the leader's cabin. The twins, Josie and Mary, opened their cabin door, and ran towards the sound. Sophie also nervously opened her cabin door, slowly tiptoeing out of the door. Across the lake, Colin, Ben, Jason and another boy I hadn't seen before, all ran out of their cabin, sprinting towards the leader's cabin. Although they didn't look it, Josie and Mary were fast, very fast. They easily outran the boys, Sophie, and I. The boy I didn't recognise tripped as he ran, and was sent sprawling onto the ground. The others didn't wait for him.

The twins were already in the cabin by the time we got there. Colin was next, and charged inside screaming. As the rest of us arrived, we saw Colin lying still in the corner, a bloody girl in the middle of the room, a huge scorpion like creature in the centre, and the twins knife fighting the beast. They moved in perfect sync, punching, kicking, slashing, blocking. Mary's knife flew from her hand. Josie was on the other side of the scorpion, and ouldn't have seen her. However, a knife flew from Josie's hand, flying round the monster's head, curving beautifully. Mary caught the flying knife, and plunged it into the creature's stomach, making it explode into dust, covering Ben, Jason, Sophie, and I.

We all spluttered into coughing, and when that cleared, Jason stared at the twins. "How the hell did you do that? What was that?" He asked, pointing at the dust mound, "And who are you?" After recovering from her coughing fit, Sophie ran over to the bloody body, and placed her finger on their neck. "There's no pulse, nothing!" Colin suddenly woke up, looked at all of us standing there, and fell back on the ground, in shock. "Well," Mary replied, "I'm Mary and" "I'm Josie". "That is what we call an Anti-Human," "And, well, we have a sort of, gift", "You'll see in all due time, and unlock your gift."

The twins began to walk out, and Jason called after them, "What do you mean?, What gift?" They carried on walking.
