Chapter 5

They led me to a white room. He threw me in. "Hey!" I banged on the door just as they closed it. I waited there for awhile. It wasn't long till someone came in. It was a tall but fat man, he had a lab coat, grey pants, and a yellow buttoned red shirt. He came and pushed some buttons on a touch screen tablet on a pedestal. He payed no attention to me, the table thing in the middle of the room began to move. He looked over at me, "Well then, are you ready?" I stood there frantically looking around for an exit. A lady came in, she came towards me. "Resisting is futile" she then grabbed my arm and took me over to the table chair thing in the middle. "We can do this two ways, you can cooperate or I can stick you with this needle" she was very blunt about it. I cautiously and slowly got on the table chair thing. Then these clamps shut down on my wrists and ankles. "Wh-" "this is just procedure" she then closed the one around my neck. She went to go stand next to the lab coat guy, she stood there strait faced. Then a machine came down and 'scanned?' me. The guy in the lab coat looked at the touch screen on the pedestal. "Hmm, it's the same as the other subject" "What was that?" The doctor looked at me with an aggravated expression. The lady put her hand in front of the guy, as a 'stand down' gesture. "That was an X-Ray scanner, it scanned your body so we could see your bone placement" "is the other 'subject' that girl in the room?" The guy continued with procedures. I cautiously watched the machines move around me as she answered me, "yes, she is subject 1" she walked towards me with a needle in hand. I fidgeted and struggled in the shackles. "Relax, that will make it easier" she stuck me with the needle and I imedialty stopped moving. The room began fuzzy, things began to go white. ................. I fluttered my eyes open, my vision was still blury. I blinked rapidly to return my eyes back to normal. The first thing I saw was some pink blur, then my vision cleared up and I saw that girls face. "Hey! Wake up" she lightly slapped my face. I got up and groaned. "Good morning sleeping beauty" she got up and sat on one of the beds. "Morning?" "I have no idea what time of day it is" she fell back onto the bed. "What's your name?" "Wuh- you just ask me now?" I got up and sat next to her. "Yeah, now that I think about it" "Amy Rose Adams" I looked at her. "Oh, you just wanted first name huh?" "That would've been fine. Name's Shadow" she sat up. "Hot damn, sexy and a sexy name" "wha- I- huh?" "Hey, I call 'em how I see 'em" my face burned red. "Pretty name, pretty girl" I looked over at her, she had her head in her hand sideways laying on the bed. "Why thank you" she fluttered her eyes. She laid on her back and luaghed, "so I'm guessing they tagged you?" "Scuse me?" She chuckled. "They stuck a chip in your arm to track you just in case you decide to run away" "I don't know, I was knocked out" I laid back on the bed with her. "Okay, well they probably did" I turned my head to her. We were lying side by side, she turned her face. Now we were face to face, "why do you think they 'really' brought us here?" She stared into my eyes as I looked at her shining emerald eyes. "They want us becuase were the last of our kind" "our kind?" I got up staring down at her. "Were the only two mitsunes left" "mitsunes? What?" She sat up with me, "mitsunes are creatures that have animal parts but are still mostly human. They have mystical powers, they lived in peace in a very excluded part of earth. Then the humans found them out and hunted them down, they captured them and used their powers for personal use and studied them. They lived in captivity for most of their lives, then they slowly died out due to living conditions" "you've known this for how long?!" I sat up on my knees. "Well, I read it in a library book. Y'know, half a year ago" "but you knew this" "I couldn't tell you. There was no window opportunity" I plopped down on the bed. "I can't believe it, I'm part of this weird species that died of years ago and one of the last ones" "little crazy right?" "Well yeah!" I ran my fingers through my hair. The door opened and that same women walked in from earlier. I got up and slightly backed away, "come with me" she looked at me. "No" I stated, she looked like she was gonna get mad but she kept her composure. She snapped her fingers and that blue haired guy came in. He grabbed me. "You can't just take us hostage and do whatever you want with us!" "Actaully we can and did" the lady stated. I tried to fight the guys grasp. I kicked his leg and bite his hand. I darted for an exit. I made it about halfway when I was tackled to the ground. I tumbled with my attacker till he was on top of me. "Where do think your going?" I struggled and tried to wiggle my arms free from him pinning me. "Outside" I banged my head into his and ran off again. I made it outside, I ran as fast as I could. 'Stop now, your resistints will get you nowhere' I heard on speakers. The guy caught up to me, "stop now. Do you even realize the number of guns aimed on you right now?" I looked around. "You wouldn't kill me, your most valuable asset in study. You need me!" I took off faster. He rammed into me and we tumbled to the ground, "not as much as you think" he slapped me across the face with gun. Black. I passed out, "why'd you try to run?"
