I know it was wrong for me to put the blame on Lucious and take my frustration out on him but it's not he's entirely fault. "Hey Cookie" Vernon said innocently "Vernon" I mugged sitting down. "Why you always mugging-" I cut him off "Look Vernon cut the shit. Why are trying to bring Lucious down" I asked tapping my freshly manicured nails on the glass table. Vernon's whole demeanor changed. "Are you seriously asking me that question? Look at all the dirty he did to you, and yet your still protecting him." he said seriously "Look I can handle my own business and I don't need anyone's help" I told him and he laughed. "I'm not doing anything for you Cookie, Lucious has put me on the back burner, he's an ungrateful coward...." he paused "I'm going to bring him down and I won't stop at any cost. I'll take down anyone who gets in my way... Including you" he said intertwining his fingers and leaning back into his seat. "You want to pick a fight with the Lyon's? You better be ready because this means war" I calmly said rising from my seat. "Good luck Vernon" I said stopping in front of him. "You're in the Lyon's den now and no one will be able to save you" I said walking away
Lucious POV 1 week later
Cookie explain to me about Vernon trying to take me down. It's a war and he's playing for the wrong team. "Lucious I have to talk to you-" at her words the my Mansion doors were kicked in and in came federal agents. "You have the right to remain silent anything that you say can and will be used against you in the court of law. You have the right to an attorney. If you cannot afford one, one will be provided for you in the court of law. Do you understand your rights" a federal agent read my rights. I stayed calm. I seen this coming, I prepared myself for it, Vernon isn't stupid but his day will come because I'm a Lyon. "Lucious-" her words blurred as I was placed in handcuffs in the back of a police car.
Jamal POV
I walked with a purpose avoiding Paparazzi, trying to get to the court house for dad's trail. Mom is here along with everyone else including Vernon. Something has been off between him and Dad but no one will talk about it. "You got balls coming up in here Vernon. Let me find out you have something to do with this I'll- mom started "You'll what? I know Y-you don't want to make a scene in the court room now do you" he taunted pointing to a police officer then at the judge. See this is what I'm talking about something isn't right but Vernon and Dad are best friends so I don't know what to think. "All rise for the honorable judge Jenkins" the Baylor announced and everyone stood up. Mom stood up last with dad staring at her. "Okay, has the jury reached the verdict" Judge Jenkins asked looking up. "Yes, your honor" the baylor said giving her papers. The judge looked at dad "Lucious?" she called confused. She looks like she caught in between a hard place as she made eyes contact with mom. "Shit" the judge mumbled "Judge do you know this man" the baylor questioned looking at her face expression and body language. "No no no, just a day that I thought would never happen again" she answered staring deep into moms eyes. "In the state of Illinois, the city of Chicago finds Lucious Lyon..." she paused looking at mom like she didn't want to say what was next because she was terrified of the consequences. By the looks of things I'm taking she knows mom. "Guilty on all charges. You'll serve a sentence of LIFE in a maximum security state penitentiary.No bail. Court dismissed" the judge said slamming her gavel down. "Say you're goodbyes to your family" she told him standing up washing her hands over her face exiting the room. "Well you know what needs to happen. Congratulations Vernon" dad smiled demonically. "Take care of the Empire and take care of the family" he told me pulling mom to the side. I watched as they had their conversation. I could see their mouths moving but I can't hear what they're saying. Tears ran down moms face as she looked down at the floor. Dad lifted her chin to look at him and hugged her. I looked away from them forcing my attention to my brothers.
11 months later Lucious POV
"Hey baby" I smiled sitting down at the round steel table.

"Lucious, I can't wait for you forever. I love you but I can't wait for a day that will never come." she explained. "Baby just wait for me" I told her "Lucious it's been almost a year and you're severing life and I have to move on lu" she told me but who could blame her. "Whatever makes you happy" I told her. "Baby I know your hurt but-" I cut her off "Don't do that Cookie, just don't" I put up my hand. "Who is he" I asked hearing her voice grow lower. "He's a friend from back in the day" she said avoiding a name. "Whatever, congratulations" I said standing up from the table. "Guard, take me to my cell" I told him never breaking my contact from Cookie. Just like that she was gone and I was forgotten. Karma's a bitch ain't it? I did the same thing to her when she was locked up but I'm not done with Cookie and it won't be the last time I see her even if she comes to visit or not. I have my connections so trust and believe I'll be back.
