Cruel~ Chapter One

"1...2...3...4..." My mind wandered aimlessly as the liquid dripped to the floor. I could smell the metallic stench. It was like I could taste it. I poured the beer bottles out one by one in the sink. I never should've thrown that party. I had to be at school in three hours, so I woke up early to
clean all of this up. Maddie was passed out on my couch, most likely drunk. It took everything in her last night to stop thinking about her toxic relationship. I felt bad, so I didn't wake her up. At Roanoke High, we started at nine o'clock. I decided to wake her up at eight. It was 6:45 now, her hour and fifteen minutes closing faster than she thought.
  After I finally cleaned up all the beer and puke from last night, I decided to go ahead and get dressed. My black skinny jeans fit just right, and I threw on my twenty one pilots shirt. I brushed thoroughly through my thick, brown hair. 
  I examined myself in the mirror, doing my normal makeup.
  Before I knew it, it was eight. I walked back downstairs to awaken my best friend, who was now on the floor.
  "Maddie..." I whispered. She groaned as I shook her, bringing her back from the depths of her unconsciousness. She rolled over on her side and opened one eye.
  "What do you want from me?" The sarcasm dripped in her voice.
  "For you to go to school, please."
She looked at me and rolled her eyes. She sat up off the floor, clutching her stomach.
  "What in the actual fuck happened last night?" She moaned. I chuckled.
  "Maddie. You got so drunk because James was being normally a dick." She looked at me, eyes full of worry. Her eyes started reddening, filling with the burning tears she knew so well. I could literally feel her searing pain, both physically and mentally, in my body.
  "Come on, Maddie. Let's go get ready for school." I helped her off the floor and up to my room for her to change. Today was going to be a rough day...
