Peridot was your friend for as long as u could remember. You can clearly recall how u met, you were defending her from bullies specifically Jasper. Now you would ask 'why would they make fun of such a cute and smart person?' Well even though peridot was everything everything you describe her to be, she was still considered short and an easy target. And ever since that day you became the best of friends considering how you came home with a black eye that day

Now because of how inseperable you two were, peridot told you everything. Her secrets, her crushes, her theories and everything. She would even help you with your homework. You did the same thing telling everything that is to know about you. But there was one thing you couldn't tell her, and that was the person you liked.

It was Monday, the usual dreadful aura reeking in the school hallways. It was math and the teacher was assigning people to work in pairs for an upcoming assignment

"Ms. Peridot you will work with Ms. Garnet"
Oh no. You knew how Peridot was quite intimidated by Garnet and also disliked her somewhat

"Noooo Peri" you reached your hand out toward her from the other end of the classroom

"Helpppp. Im stuck with this clod" Peridot could only mouth the words from the other side of the classroom knowing if she did say this out loud there would be consequences
All you could do was give her a thumbs up and mouthed the words "good luck"

"Uhh next up is... Ms(Y/N) you be working with Ms. Pearl
WHAT!?!? OH GOD WHY HER
Pearl. The smartest person in the class next to Peridot. You could easily pass this stupid subject knowing Pearl would be your partner, but why did you feel so anxious.

School ended in a flash so you and Peridot went back to your dorms. Coincidentally you were actually one of her roommates along with another one. Lapis Lazuli.
To be honest you and Lapis weren't on good terms, to sum it up she hated your guts. But Peridot being the friendly one tried to get you two to be friends, but alas it was not meant to be.

"I'm cooking dinner, what do you guys want?" You asked from your mini kitchen. Yes, mini kitchen. You guys just went to a really nice school that had eally nice dorms.
You had the choice to either eat with the others in the canteen where dinner was already made or cook your own food in your dorms.

"No no no no Noooooooooooo" Peridot yelled as she ran to the kitchen.

"Don't cook!!!! The last time you cooked dinner was a disaster,"

"Ouch Peri, ouch". You hate to admit it but you kinda sucked at cooking.

"Look I can't cook either but-" She paused for a moment.

"HEY LAZULI! HEY LAZULI! HEYY!"

"Oh god Peridot, what is it now?!" The blunnette said as she groggily walked into the kitchen

"Oh Lapis thank god you finally woke up, we need you to make dinner again"

Lapis current mood still cranky due to her being woken up by Peridot's screaming
"Please." Peridot's voice now soft

"*sigh* Fine, just wait okay?" Lapis said as she pat Peridot's head with a small smile.

"Wow you guys look really cute together" you blurted out

"Ummm, I..." Lapis sharply turned her head away flustered and started cooking

"(Y/N)! D-Don't be stupid! Hahaha me and Lazuli would never happen" Peridot declared with a hint of embarrassment

"What ever you say Peri haha"

"Dinner's ready!!"

"Come on (Y/N), dinner!" Peridot said excitedly as the smell of food roamed through the living room

"Just a sec, let me finish the book"

"You know, it's pointless to read something when it has no educational or informative value!" Peridot shot back

"Yeah yeah okay just eat ahead, I'll catch up"
Peridot just sighed as she went to the dining table and ate with Lapis

15 mins later you finished the book and went to the dining table only to find no food left for you and Lapis cleaning the table

"Uhh Lapis, where's dinner?"

"Oh I'm sorry! I think me and Peridot ate it all!" She said with a sarcastic tone

"Lapis what did I to offend you this time?!"

"D-Don't be stupid! Hahaha you offending me would never happen"
'Ohmygod Peridot said something like this before dinner' you mentally recalled

"Look, I feel like I offended you in some way"
'Yes I know I did I'm sorry Lapis 😭'

"But you could just tell me what wrong I did instead of not leaving food for me"

Because I'm hungry as heck right now and I suck at cooking

And with that she left the dining room and retreated to her room
