*Author's Note* I've been forgetting to add my little disclaimer at the beginning of this story. I own no characters except for Seraphina and Saleen. Well, I'm borrowing Saleen from @saleen0416. I'll probably be updating more regularly because I have a set schedule now. I was also listening to "Mercy" by Duffy when I wrote this so I had a good soundtrack playing.

*Regina's POV*

Revenge is a dish best served in the form of a loving mother. Seriously, mothers are overrated. No one needs them. My own sister is a terrible mother. Honeslty, who lets their only child be kidnapped. Although, I shouldn't be talking. As I'm blasting my own sister for her terrible mothering skills, I have cared for Saleen for all these years. All those years. She should be begging me for mercy. It would've been so easy to kill her so many times. A quick spell, a little poison, a little...push in the right direction and I would've been free of her. But no. I kept her alive. I needed her for my curse.

You probably think I'm evil, plotting to kill my sister's child when she and I were so close. Even though our personalities aren't all that similar, our names sound relatively alike: Regina, Seraphina. I see where Mother was going. Her perfect trophy daughters, her adorable collection, groomed and beaten to perfection. I learned to protect Seraphina. She was my little sister, I had to. Mother would corrupt her so fast. Seraphina was so innocent, so trusting, so unlike me. Where I was violent, she was diplomatic. Where I was domineering, she was willing to compromise. Where I punished, she gave forgiveness.  Reflecting on my past will never get me anywhere. I look back to my neice.

"Still need Mummy's help?" I mock. (oh the irony..)

Saleen produces a wave of magic which I counter. Suddenly, the fog around us begins to lift. We are transported out of that little...afterlife and into my castle. Hook is bound and gagged in the corner. At the sight of Saleen, he sits up.

"Be still, pirate," I say venomously, knocking him out with a temporary sleeping spell. His eyes hit Saleen's right before he passes out. Saleen suddenly looks stunned.

"Understand now?" I say harshly. Saleen gives me a fake confused look.

"Hmm?" she asks.

*Saleen's POV*

Hook is in love with me. I can't believe I never realized it. All the little smiles, the comments, the bickering.
