The police office
I was just sitting and eating a doughnut -yes, some cliches are true- when a teenage girl called me, voice raised in anxiety. Secretly I hoped that she was at a disco, you know, panic at the disco pun? She screamed some words too loud to understand through the phone, probably blinded by total panic.
"Ok, calm down bud, drink some water, then tell what happened, please." I suggested her. I heard a sink run and I guess she drank some water, I couldn't really hear. 'I, I, I,' she stuttered. 'I got a text message.' Whoop whoop! Another text message case! (Notice the sarcasm?) 'Congratulations,' I whispered.
The girl tried to shout: 'Excuse me!' at me. Her voice didn't really cooperate, and it sounded more like a high-pitched squeal. After the failed screech, she continued, her voice sounded angrier: 'And in the message was a picture.' 'Ok, a picture. That's not so special, is it?'
'Let me f*cking finish!' the girl shouted at the other side of the line. Oh! Hotheaded, my favourite! (more sarcasm!) 'Ok, calm down Missy, you didn't call me for nothing, did you?' I hear a small growl through the telephone.
'So, I got this message. It had a picture attached. On the picture I saw my friend, Amanda.'
'That isn't that alarming, is it?'
'LET ME F*CKING SPEAK,' the girl shouted in the microphone of her phone, almost making me deaf by her rage.
'Ok, where were we? Oh yeah, that friend of you -called Amanda- was in a picture someone sent you.' I said calmly. 'Explain further please.'
Still with a spark of annoyance and even anger in her voice, she continued. 'On the picture I saw my friend laying on the pavement, with one of my unicorn horns smashed through her head. The text message said that I shouldn't go looking for her. Convinced? Oh, by the way, it might be my unicorn horn, but I didn't do it.'
Yes! I thought. Finally I have an exiting case! (No sarcasm this time.) I know I shouldn't be happy, but I'm just happy that I got a case that isn't a lost cat. 'We'll come as soon as possible, ma'am. Is tomorrow at... 2 o'clock possible?'
The girl on the other end sighed of relief. 'Yes, that'll be fine,' she said. 'see you tomorrow.' 'Good day further.' I told her and hung up the phone.
'Yes!' I said cheerfully under my breath.
A case worthy of me!
A/N: Sorry that it took so long for the second chapter to come. My parents hated me and banned me from my laptop. This one is so short, now I'm sad. I WANNA MAKE IT LONGER!! I don't have any inspiration though.. The gods don't like me right now, I guess..
Anyway, until next part!
