-For Alejandro for manning up and asking Pedro out. -
I waited for Albie, on a Tuesday, to come knocking on my door.
He didn't.
That's when I got this feeling in my brain that he wouldn't. I also had a bad feeling that something happened to him. I watched the clock for about six to seven minutes before I actually decided to call.
He didn't pick up.
I called three more times.
Still no answer.
I got so scared that I went running down stairs, past my parents, and out the door. I think I heard them calling my name. I ran past 69th street, and then down the street. When I got to Albie's house, which was at the end of 72nd street, I noticed something. The car wasn't in the driveway. But the good thing is, Albie's bike was still there. A relief i supposed. I smiled a little before I approached the door. I knocked about three times, till someone opened the door. It wasn't Albie.
"What do you want?" The person hissed. I'm very good at noticing things. The house was trashed. And I tried not to let the guy notice that I was staring in.
"I'm looking for Albie." I said.
His face then split into a smile.
"Well come in then."
A part of me was scared, but then I saw Albie sitting down playing the Xbox.
The man went over to tap Albie so he could know I was here.
There's a friendly feel to the place.
Albie looked like he was having fun.
He said, "I remember when we used to do things this way, and look how far we've come since then."
He was pointing to the Xbox to give me a hint, but I just nodded.
"I thought you was coming over," I replied.
"I was worried."
He pats the seat next to him.
"I couldn't make It because of that dumb babysitter not letting me out."
I went over.
"But you're almost 16 Albie." I said, sitting down.
The man behind us, was on his phone texting.
"I know, Lynnie."
I watched him for awhile, on the xbox.
"I don't often get the chance to talk to someone like you." He says, sighing and changing the game.
"What do you mean, Al?" I asked.
"Since my mom and dad traveled, I have to be stuck with him." His voice sounded cold.
"And I can't visit you....most of the time." His voice grew angry, then quite enough to say, "I missed my best friend."
I blushed.
We played games after that, but I had to leave at 8, Since it was getting dark. "See you later, Albie."
I gave him a hug, and then left.
As I made my way back home, I saw Albie's Mom's Friend's car. I had to look away so they wouldn't recognize me. Maybe his parents had them check on Al so he wouldn't leave. 7 minutes later, as I was making my way to 69th street, I got a feeling like I was being followed. I ran a little at first, because I heard foot steps. I got so scared. Running was the only thing on my mind, but instead, I turned around to see.
It was Albie.
