I was startled and confused. Why was my mom saying such things? As I looked around the room I sighed in relief. I saw my sister coming down stairs towards us.
"Good morning!" She said happily as always.
"Good morning" I mumbled.
"Who are you talking to?" My mom asked.
I gave her a strange look and pointed at Louisa.
"Don't you see her?!"
"You must be sick, stay home today, don't go to school, your friends will think you're crazy anyways, and we also still have an appointment with Dr. " my dad said
"Dr. what?" I asked
"Dr. "
"What's his name?"
"His name is "
"What?"
" "
"Ugh, I must seriously be sick I can't even hear you."
"We have an appointment at 10:30."
"Sure, whatever."I didn't go to school. I stayed home, locked the door to my room and thought about my dreams and Louisa. I couldn't believe my parents couldn't see her. I've always had nightmares but lately they've been really terrible and I kept thinking about them throughout the day.
It was 10:00 and my dad came upstairs into my room. He knocked on the door but I didn't open it. I didn't know how to feel. I guess I seemed sad but I really just didn't know how to show my happiness. Eventually I came out of my room and slowly walked down the stairs.
I wasn't surprised to see Louisa leaning on a bookshelf beside the couch where mom and dad were waiting for me. I glanced at her but looked away quickly so that mom didn't think I was completely insane.
On the way to the doctor I was finally able to relax. Sinking deep into my thoughts and staring at the cloudy sky for a moment blended out my real problems.
We arrived. We had been driving for over two hours. I looked out the window and a tall old building seemed to look right through us. It was grey and the streets around it were almost completely empty.
It seemed as if the time had been stopped. For a moment we all sat in the car in silence. Dad sighed and then got out of the car slowly, it seemed like his movements were all very forced.
The three of us walked over to the building. I looked around the streets and didn't see a single soul. An incredible feeling of emptiness snuck into my thoughts with every breath I took. not The air was slightly warm and there wasn't any movement. There was no wind. Not even the leaves on the trees shook. Everything was too still.
For a second I caught my self daydreaming. The stillness gave my mind a sense of peace, something I hadn't felt in a long time. I simply stood there, smiling, longing for a future. Suddenly I felt something cold tickle my neck, like a little snowflake. Ironically, something cold unfroze me. My eyes widened and I was thrown out of my fantasy.
I looked back searching the street for my parents, but I didn't see anyone, I thought they had gone into the building but the car was nowhere to be seen either.
