Harry woke up to George saying, "Mum says get up, your breakfast is in the kitchen and then she needs you in the drawing room, there are loads more doxies than she thought and she's found a nest of dead puffskeins under the sofa."
Harry finally dragged himself out from under his warm ball of cosy blankets, and half an hour later he and Ron were downstairs eating breakfast, the upcoming challenge of cleaning the only thing on their minds.
That is until a soaking wet Sirius marched downstairs.
"Sirius, erm, why are you...?" Harry began forming the question.
"Soaking wet? Ask that madwoman upstairs," Sirius grumbled, jabbing his thumb behind him in the general direction of the staircase.
"Who-" Ron began but was quickly cut off by Mrs Weasley entering the room.
"You two get in here and start helping. This will be no easy task - Sirius, dry off, would you? We don't want to ruin the floors."
All the while they were cleaning, Harry could catch Sirius grumbling to himself.
"...that girl...just got back...already pranking...bad influence on her..." While Harry couldn't make head or tails of what Sirius was talking about, the strangest thing was that even though he was complaining, Sirius hadn't stopped smiling all day.
When they had been at work for a good fifteen minutes, Dumbledore entered the room.
"Mrs Weasley, I hate to interrupt your cleaning, but I wonder if I could borrow Harry for a moment? Mr Black and Mr Lupin, you should come too."
Remus nodded, But it was the smile on Sirius' face that made him think something was up. Well, a slightly more mischievous smile than the grin he had been wearing all day. He hesitated. He had the feeling that something weird was going on.
"Yes, yes of course." Mrs Weasley said. "Harry, you had better go on. We can manage without you for a few minutes." Harry got the impression that Mrs Weasley was under the impression that he had hesitated because he wanted to help clean.
"Erm, right." Harry followed Professor Dumbledore upstairs, with Sirius and Remus following closely behind him.
"Uh, I'm glad for an excuse to get out of cleaning, but what exactly is this all about?" Harry said, trying his best not to look too closely at the mounted house elf heads that lined the hallway.
"All will be revealed shortly." Okay, something was definitely up.
They climbed the stairs, finally stopping in front of a door. "Harry, before we enter, I must ask you that you give me your wand. Temporarily, of course." Dumbledore held out his hand. Harry looked at him quizzically.
"Give him your wand, Harry." The serious (no pun intended) tone in Sirius' voice surprised Harry.
"... alright." Harry finally relented his wand.
Dumbledore opened the door.

To say that Lily Potter was nervous would be the understatement of the century. She hadn't stopped pacing since Remus had left the room soon after Sirius.
